This is one of those games that can be easily overlooked. While it doesn’t have a lot of depth, it’s charm will win over almost everyone that plays it.

The art style and theme work really well. The cartoony iconography helps keep the game light hearted.

It is accessible by people of all ages, even non-gamers. With the average game usually clocking in around 10 minutes, it’s not the kind of game that will scare off potential players.

While this game isn’t going to be the cornerstone of our gaming nights, its great as a warm-up game or when you just don’t have an hour or more to sit down and play most other games.

When the first card is placed on the table to start the timeline, instead of placing date side up, leave it face down. Players can then each take their best guess as to the exact year on the card. The player closest to the actual date goes first.

Since you get 2 plastic stand rods with each ship, why not make your game a bit more visually entertaining while helping identify your key pilots a bit more easily on the playing field?

You can vary your ships in height by using between 1 -3 of the plastic rods. I usually do this by pilot skill to help identify what order I will be activating them. In addition, it gives the battlefield a more 3D look as well.

Playing with someone more or less experienced that yourself? Giving a player an extra 5-10 points when constructing their fleet can help even the playing field and keep the game enjoyable, at least until they catch up to speed.

Strategy: “Going for a set of 3”

Although this game isn’t heavy on strategy, here is something I try when my starting rolls don’t include a lot of tanks. I find that when trying to collect one of each (Chicken, cow, and human) for the bonus points, start by grabbing the one with the least amount of dice. This will give the most oppurtunities to collect the other two. The risk is getting too many tanks as you will be rolling a lot of dice each roll.

Although tempting, I find its much harder to get the bonus when grabbing the earthlings with the most dice each turn.
