This 5-6 player expansion set does what it says in the tin: it allows another two players to join the fun. The set comes prepared with all the components necessary to ramp the ‘Catan – Cities & Knights’ game up to six players, and provides two new coloured sets of playing pieces: Green and Brown. It also provides extra Commododity Cards to cater for the added players.
Again, superb quality of all pieces and components. This set is an essential ‘must-have’ for all would be Catan fans. Buy it and enjoy!
Usually I love expansions, but I personally feel Catan works best when it’s kept simple. I like the expansion, and think it adds replayability, but the game in and of itself is so much fun and so addicting, that this feels like an expansion for the really avid Catan player that needs an added layer of complexity.
The addition of a third die, and the element of 3 separate decks of cards for city improvements, as well as the presence of the noble knights on the board greatly increase various styles of play and strategies to winning the game.
Wonderful replay value – My family plays twice a week!
