One element of this game that often gets overlooked in the drive to build a button economy is the element of time. This game is rather unique in that players don’t take turns playing the game – the player who is furthest back in time gets to keep playing until they get ahead of the other player.
Consider taking pieces that will keep you behind the other player, so that you can take two (or more) pieces each time the other player takes one. Not only will that allow you to get the 7×7 bonus buttons, but you’ll also get your board filled out faster, so you’ll have more options available to you when you’re trying to finish up your board.
