We played another rousing game of Snake Oil which is always hilarious! @jim – would love to see this game added to the database! It is a great party game, especially for those who are fans of (but maybe bored with) Apples to Apples.

Had a great weekend gaming! 6 player Settlers of Catan followed by Snake Oil, and then after the sad, sad game of the Super Bowl – if you could even call that a game – we played our first ever game of Steam Park which was a great game! I am definitely looking forward to getting more Steam Park plays in.

I just picked up Steam Park at my FLGS today! Looking forward to playing it this weekend and would love to see it added as well!

Gencon #7 for me and #16 for my fiancee. I got to play in an EPIC Spell Wars tourney (tons of fun!), watched some Warmachine and Hordes as well as Mercs, demoed a few things, but nothing spectacular, and the one and only purchase this year was Legacy- Gears of Time (really cool!). I really missed the Boardgaming.com quests – they were so much fun last year!

Overall, another great con and I can’t wait til next year!

The LGS is (finally!) having an open demo day for board games on Saturday. They are featuring Netrunner and X-Wing but hopefully they will also bring out some other new games or maybe other people will bring in their own games to share. I can’t wait to try something new!

I’m expecting a delivery of the old Titan Quest PC game today to play tonight. The boyfriend and I will be heading to the local Renaissance Faire this weekend and there may be a game of Mercs played sometime… I will be doing the watching and learning (or heckling) for that one.

Hopefully playing some 7 Wonders + Cities tonight with the fam and 2nd Ed. D&D tomorrow night with the game group. Also hoping for some Epic Spell Wars to fill the time.

Participating in the quests at Gen Con was so much fun! Thank you, thank you and thank you again! I hope you guys get to come back next year and bring that added level of excitement and fun to the Gen Con experience.

Also, I think I’m going to have to make that AEG bag into a Halloween costume now…

I played this at GenCon and the review is so on point. It felt like we were so close to winning we could almost taste it! Some bad dice rolls at the end game and poor planning in the early game (because it lulls you into thinking everything is going smoothly) and the next thing we knew Atlantis had disappeared beneath the waves. I would have picked it up and played it again immediately if not for the $60 price tag (yikes!). Still I would play again if someone else brought it over to play.

This is my sixth year at GenCon, and one of the best thimgs about it is that there is always something new to do!

I’ve played some High Noon Saloon from Slugfest games, Atlantis Rising, Evo, Dixit, Warmachine/Hordes, Gruntz 15 mm, ****** Birthday, Telestrations, a game that’s on Kickstarter right now that involves semitrucks and transporting pigs, cows, corn and beans across the heartland (sorry I don’t remember what it was called), Pajaggle, Jerk, and Hike.

Still on the list is Village, Belfort, Ugg-tect, Smash-Up, Epic Spell Wars and any other game that looks cool enough to try. Speaking of, they are not demoing Village, Belfort, or Epic Spell Wars in the dealer hall that I could find, so if anyone here has and knows those games, could you give me a shout? I really want to try before I buy!

Also gencon people, check out the food trucks on Georgia Street. They are awesome! A little expensive, but you get a ton of food that is way better than the microwaved junk that is available in the convention center.

The Exploration Quests page says August 6th!

I wasn’t sure where to post to tell the people that started this site how incredible it really is (well, in my opinion anyway!) I found this through the GenCon enewsletter, and was at first attracted to the site because you were giving out prizes at GenCon. After only a few minutes of perusing the site, however, the artwork, easy navigation, easy to understand scoring, owning, and wanting, rewards for participating – everything really! – has made me an addict. I really hope that you guys keep adding more and more games, great ideas like the “Explorer” quests (I’ve already found a new game I want to try!), and find more supporters.
The only issue I’ve had so far is that I accidently rated my favorite game as a “1” because I was doing it on my smartphone and trying to zoom-in and it clicked the super-frowny-face instead, and now I can’t change it! I know mine was an accident, but there have been other games that I’ve played that I didn’t like the first few times playing because of the people, lack of rules understanding, etc., but then had a change of heart after more experience with the game. Anyway, just a thought that maybe changing a rating that you originally gave a game might be useful to some people.
Also, I wish I could Heart this game page!
