Got a chance to play some Survive Escape from Atlantis, with the girlfriends family. And it was a huge hit! Slowly but surely I will convert them to hardcore board gamers, next is Power Grid!

From the description and based on the contents it looks like it will be similar to Thunderstone. I am intrested on how game play will happen.

Thunderstone is getting a major upgrade, how do you feel about it?

I’m Jeff Quick project lead for Thunderstone. I’ve made it past the first rank, and now emerge from the dungeon, squinting in the light. And just like a Thunderstone Guardian, I’m here to destroy your freaking village.
In Heart of Doom, you had a chance to face Doom’s very heart, the eighth Thunderstone, and defeat the ancient evil. But winning that battle had unexpected consequences. It banished Doom, but also freed him to visit other worlds. And you advanced to the next world with him. In March, prepare yourself for Thunderstone Advance.
Thunderstone Advance takes the next step forward with Thunderstone. It’s fully compatible with every Thunderstone card you already own, but takes all the lessons we’ve learned in three years and levels up the game.
Thunderstone Advance does more than just a patch job, though. It brings a lot of new things to the table. New art, new mechanics, new components, and a new look. We’re also adding a new element that AEG is known for, but hasn’t brought to the Thunderstone table yet–story.
In the past, Thunderstone took a bunch of fantasy tropes, threw them in a box, and made a game out of it. That’s great, and nobody’s sad about that. But we can do better.
Over the next couple of months leading up to the release of Thunderstone Advance in March, come back here each week for new fiction revealing characters and facets of the world of Tala. You’ll travel with the Warrior as he explores the new world, and learns what evil Doom has wrought on this pristine land.
You’ll also get peeks into the new look and new cards of Thunderstone Advance, a weekly dose of insight from me, and some other stuff that it’s too soon to announce. It’s still the game you love, but a finer-tuned, dare I say,Advanced version of the game.

Dear Mansions of Madness Player,

It has come to my attention that certain components and information in our recently released Mansions of Madness expansion, Forbidden Alchemy, have serious playability issues.

I am sorry and very embarrassed by this issue. Any issues with Forbidden Alchemy are especially egregious as the Mansion of Madness core game was similarly afflicted. While FFG’s work on Forbidden Alchemy was well intended, its content and scenarios both novel and exciting, it’s obviously not acceptable for players to receive a product with serious mistakes.
We are currently undergoing a comprehensive audit of Forbidden Alchemy, not only to affirm and understand the issues that have been identified by players, but to be completely sure that it does not have yet-to-be-identified issues.

Once we have completed this audit (which we estimate will be sometime early next week), FFG will manufacture any replacement materials necessary. When printed and received by FFG, we will send such replacement materials to affected Forbidden Alchemy owners via mail at no charge. In addition, as further apology, we will include a free copy of our new Arkham Horror novel Dance of the *ed to those players.

Retailers with copies of Forbidden Alchemy on their shelves should contact their FFG sales rep so they may be sent replacement materials directly. FFG has frozen all sales of Forbidden Alchemy for the time being, as we will be replacing the affected parts in our current inventory before resuming shipments of this product. Distribution customers should similarly contact their FFG sales rep.

We will post another article here next week with the details, errata, and information on how affected players can receive their replacement materials and a copy of Dance of the *ed.

Again, on behalf of FFG, I apologize for this unacceptable issue. FFG must do better and FFG will do better.

This game looks like it will be very entertaining, with the right amount of complexity. Hopefully in a later expansion players will be able to play as the dark side and fight the rebel alliance in a different scenario. Would love it if they held tournaments that can change what comes out in the next set similar to that of Legend of the Five Rings.

@Jim I am glad it is tough game; I feel games that have the right amount of difficulty last longer, look at Ghost Stories, Pandemic, or BSG…at least for the humans.
