“Go for the point cards”

My winning strategy for this game is to not focus on obtaining the construction right, but trying to get as many points cards as possible. The easiest card to get are the four dice with the same value and 5 dice of the same color.

Also, these 2 cards can easily be obtained if you try to get the most valuable building.

Getting these 3 cards in the same round will kill your opponents

“Reach for the sky”

Don’t forget that you can deviate from your blueprint. You are essentially subtracting one point from each of your dice by missing the six point bonus for completing the blueprint, but if you can overcome that point deficit by building a tower with lots of black dice on top, for instance, it can be worth it.

“Speeding up the slow down”

The slowest part of the game is waiting for the person in front of you to select what die they will use, place it on their structure, and then draw a new die from the bag to put into the pool. The player is focusing on making decisions with the first parts of the turn and often forget do that last step.

We have changed the order to have your turn start with drawing and rolling the new resource die. You then decide if you want to use it or go with one of the others in the pool. You make your selection and build your building. The next person, not able to do anything until the next die is rolled, grabs the bag and is ready to roll by the time you are done placing your die in your building.

“How to win?”

My suggestion on how to win is first be flexible to change your strategy, second have a plan B&C&D, and work on what you think you can get. Thinking the straight is an option then go with that but mix the order of the numbers you pick up so that no one notices you’re going for the straight. Same goes for any of the cards you are trying to complete.

“Point cards”

To spice up the game a tille we randomly pick the point cards and keep them hidden until the end of the round. The player with the highest score takes the most valuable card.

In a 2 players game it can be 3, 2 or only 1 point
In a 3 and 4 players game it can be 3 or 2 for the first and 2 or 1 for second place.

Being first or second can make a big difference…or not
