Quarriors!

One of my most played games, everyone I have played this with has loved it, everyone comes away asking “where can I get a copy?”
It’s simple and very easy to pick up, and the *masses* of lovely dice make whole thing very tactile and appealing.
There’s not much strategy and can be a fairly luck based, but a game is over quickly so the randomness doesn’t bother me (as it does with say Munchkin)
Love it. Can’t recommend it enough

Played Fluxx a few times so I knew what I was getting into. Each time we played this the game lasted forever, and everyone got tired of it before we finished. Winning was just down to someone pulling out a random combo. Everyone that played it has vowed never to touch it again. Horrible

One of the best. Classic gateway game and with good reason. Easy to learn but with some depth. Quick to play without being trivial. Even the wife enjoys this one!

Adding a dungeon crawl theme to Dominion should have resulted in one of the greatest games ever. It didn’t.
Frustrating and dull to play, zero interaction means you’re basically playing a two-player solo game. The strategies are obvious and there’s very few nice card combos (unlike Dominion).
Avoid.

Had my first game a few weeks ago. I’d heard of the game years ago (it’s by the legendary Richard Garfield) but never played it, until now. OH BOY!
I’ve never had this much fun playing a game I was absolutely terrible at! Howls of laugher as I completely mess up my first 2 turns, after proclaiming “I’m a programmer, I think I’ll be good at this”. It’s such a simple concept, yet it works so well. It’s one of the few games I can see actually scaling from 2 to 8 players, and also so ripe for house ruling and building on.
I immediately bought a copy, and played it again with some mates, absolute hysterics once again. I can recommend this to almost all gamers, it’s not overly complex, but not random, it’s not too theme heavy, but not a dry themeless game.
Perfect!
