“Don't save your cards for later!”

Later may never come! >ha< But seriously, try to get all you can out of your hand every turn. Remember, you can discard and redraw at the end of YOUR turn – and may draw your hand back after everyone else's turn too. You will see many of those cards again. And sometimes discarding a few 'good' cards to try and get a couple defenses may be the difference between life – and unlife. Play like every hand may be your last. It just might be.

“HARD mode is Really hard.”

I don’t recommend starting in Hard mode, thinking that the other ones are just ‘starter’ games. They aren’t. Basic mode provides a solid chance of escape. Medium mode is anyone’s guess. Hard mode will tear you up. You have accomplished something by getting out alive. So know that going in.
