“Hold on to the card that lets you go through the discard pile for a goal.”

There is a specific card that lets you either look into the future (draw pile), or go into the past (discard). This card can be a game winner so I almost always try to hold onto it as long as possible as it lets me look for a certain keeper or goal from the cards. But I must say this only works if you are paying attention to what goals and keepers have already been played. So if you hae a knack for remembering what has or hasnt been played this might be a good tactic for you…

“Get the Computer!”

When you have a keeper stealing card and your opponent has the computer in front of him. Take it! (unless another keeper gets you to win the game.) The Computer is the best card in the game. It let’s you draw and play more cards and enhances you hand and keeper limits.
When you cannot get it … maybe you can shift the malfunction creeper to the opponents computer to shut it down.

“Holographic Projecter FTW!”

Keep yourself always checking goal conditions when you have holographic projecter in play (even if opponent has it). It’s one of the most powerful keepers in the game, since it can copy any other keeper. It is difficult to remember sometimes with so much going on that you may miss a winning opportunity if you have it in play. If the opponent plays, get a malfunction creeper on it ASAP…unless you can steal it.

“Get Your Keepers out ASAP”

To win the game, you need to accomplish the goal. To accomplish the goal, you need keepers (and sometimes creepers). Since the goal will change many times, put down as many keepers as you can to diversify your goal winning options. That may also keep people from playing objective cards in their hands because it could help you.

This pairs well with Jay Atkinson’s strategy of holding onto your goal cards – doing this puts you in a good position to win, as long as nobody makes you discard tons of cards.

“Try to hang onto potential winning goals, don't just play them right away.”

The best thing you can do in Star Fluxx, particularly with the creepers (harder to win), is to hold onto potential winning goals. This keeps people from guessing what you’re trying to accomplish and have them overriding the goal. Try to play the goal in a combo move, once you have the goal conditions satisfied. This a bigger problem with creepers, because they are harder to win when you have them attached to you. Creepers can only be counteracted with specific goal cards.

“Cute Fuzzy Alien - creeper defense?”

As annoying as the little cute fuzzy alien card is because it keeps coming back and keeps getting passed around, it actually can be of some use. If you have it, attach “Brain Parasites” or “Evil” creeper to it, and watch the creeper get passed around preventing victory. You can still win though (or someone else), once the fuzzy alien leaves your tableau, it no longer affects you, but your neighbor.

“Mix the games together!”

If you play these Fluxx games enough to feel samey, then just mix the games together and see what madness ensues!! W mix Monty Python with Star Fluxx and get the fun mix of scifi cards with the madcap singing and quoting of Monty Python.
