“Get Your Beast of Burden”

Players start the game with 30 bags of gold. The first thing you should do is move to your Bazaar and purchase a Beast. This will help preserve your gold in case of calamity. The Beast can carry up to 50 bags of gold. Warriors can carry only 6 bags. However, if warriors are lost to battle, plague or a dragon attack, then so to is your gold! Not so if you have a Beast!

“Tread Lightly in the Bazaar”

When making a purchase at the bazaar, haggle with the merchant sparingly. For a high priced item you can usually haggle once to lower the price by 1 bag of gold. However, the merchant almost always closes the bazaar if you haggle again. Then you’ve wasted a turn and the food ration as well. Don’t even try to haggle on low priced items – the bazaar will close every time.

You should consider purchasing something else, such as food, if the item you want is expensive. You may need to stay another turn in the bazaar, but at least the current turn won’t be a total loss.

“run away”

Do not be afraid to run away. The old adage about “He who fights and runs away…” is never proven more true than in this game.

“around you go”

Travel in one direction(clockwise or counterclockwise). When you enter a new kingdom travel to the far side and then search. That way once you find the key you can quickly get to the next kingdom.
