“Fixed bonuses”

When you play Carcassonne with many expansions at once, the bonuses for the King and Robber tokens grow insanely. Moreover, it’s troublesome to count the total number of roads and cities at the end of the game.

So if you play with a lot of tiles and you plan to build a large piece of land, it may be a good option to set the bonuses to a fixed value. After a few playtests I recommend 16 points for both the King at the Baron. This bonus is large enough to be attractive and small enough not to be broken. And it can be added quickly!

“Keep a couple d20s in your Carcassonne kit”

Rather than counting the longest road and largest city each time it comes into question, place a d20 with the appropriate value showing on the King and Bandit tokens.
