In the Flying Machines edition which simulates the very earliest planes in the war, the Allied plane is a ‘pusher’ – with it’s engine and prop in the back. This allowed the pilot to fire his gun without fear of shooting off his propellor. It also mean that the Hotchkiss gun which the plane in this set carried was swivel mounted.

This means that the Allied plane will score hits much more often than the German plane in this set.

Sound unfair? Well, it also does less damage and has less range. So you just have to balance what you want – more hits vs more damage/range.

I always liked flying the Allied plane, but I also knew how to ‘fly’ it.
