I’ve taken a bit of a deep-end plunge on The Game of Thrones: The Card Game and plan on cutting my teeth on it some this week. There’s definitely going to be some Agricola in the cards as well…I do love watching that farm grow!

@HaiKulture – Thanks for the tips! I’ve clunked around with the rulebook, FAQs and the game a bit over the past few days, and I’m of the mindset that there’s a really, really wonderful game hidden beneath a less-than-optimal first pass at a rulebook.

I’m happy to have made the investment, and I think that a year from now when there’s a few more expansions and another, better pass at the ruleset (and maybe some re-printed cards?) this could be a nice alternative to “Descending” into a dungeon crawl. 😉

For now, I’m content to play it as an intriguing little sandbox where we house rule some of the vaguer bits of the rulebook into something that works for us as a gaming group.

The commentary here has helped sway me into giving Myst a try…the local game group enjoys a good, tough co-op game (we’ve been gutpunched many a time by the FFG Arkham games and still come back for more!) so I’m hoping that if I jump on now I can come along for the ride as they iron out the rules and start to release the (from what I hear) very necessary expansions. 🙂
