We’re waiting on a new game table to arrive as our dining room table is unusable for the foreseeable future, so it’s unlikely we’ll be able to play anything this weekend. It’s probably a good weekend to avoid obsessing over games!
What are you playing this weekend?
@Grysqrl So far so good, although Iron Legacy made an appearance twice…you can imagine how that went.
We had our yearly mini con we call 40con at my friends house. Basically we stay at his place and play games for 2 days straight. We had around 20 people and we played a lot of games. Some of the highlights were the long games we normally do not get to play such as Zombicide, Rum and Bones, Battlestar Galactica and Spartacus along with the Star Wars RPG. We had lots of little games between it too like Smash Up, Code Names, Ticket to Ride, a print and play Karmaka, Hanabe, and a lot more. A great way to spend a weekend.
Found a copy of “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – Angel of Darkness” in the cupboard, and took it out for a spin with my 11 year old daughter (who is up to speed on both board games and Tomb Raider!). Surprisingly enjoyable – although I’m not sure how often we’ll get it out.
Played a few rounds of Machi Koro. We bought is a week ago and my eleven year old has seem to figured it out, winning more times than losing. I must destroy him.
Got out munchkin legends for my daughter and we had a great time.
I wanted to play some more Pandemic but as we had the in-laws over on Sunday, we opted for something a little simpler and played a few games of Sushi Go. Easy to learn/teach and quite fun.
We have played K2 all weekend
Got in some Betrayal at House on Haunted Hill and Zombicide: Black Plague Saturday night.
Sunday got some 7 Wonders, Dixit, Til Dawn, and Pandemic: The Cure
Played some T.I.M.E. Stories and DC DBG with the Watchmen pack. Also found one of my favorite ’90s FPS games on Steam so that is killing my productivity this morning. 😀
Managed to stitch in a few more games of Patchwork. Gave Castles of Burgundy a try and really liked it. Introduced my wife and daughter to Forbidden Island, and we barely escaped with all four treasures.
Playing Quarantine and Raiders of the North Sea. And of course, Dominion (my wife’s favorite).
I don’t know about the other people in my life, but I will at least be soloing Ricochet Robot, a blast from the past.
I just got my In The Lab expansion for Pandemic, so I hope to get a few plays this weekend. And for Valentine’s Day, Love Letter and Jaipur will do well.
Back to a healthy gaming weekend.
Friday: Above & Below, Shakespeare, Vasco da Gama & 7 Wonders with all expansions
Saturday: Finally cracking the seal on my Arkham Horror Kingsport expansion. Hoping to get at least 2 plays in. EDIT: We managed to get 3 games in of AH using the Kingsport expansion. We just missed winning the first game and then got decimated the next two games. It was fun though!
@Hai: That sounds awesome. Let us know how it goes!
I hope to play Ticket to Ride with my wife. And some Tide of Iron Fury of the Bear solo for the Battle of the Bulge scenario.
I also would like to play a light-hearted game of zombies III.
The Boy is cooking up some sort of homebrew Cosmic Conflict campaign so we can do a Multiverse Month in celebration of the OblivAeon Kickstarter campaign.
Each night we are going to play a game of Sentinels using a random team/villain/environ set up.
If a hero becomes incapacitated – his base/variant is eliminated. If the hero runs out of variants over the ‘campaign’ – they are retired. If a hero gets paired with their nemesis and wins -they get a free pass or can bring an eliminated character card back into the mix. Defeated Villains are ‘jailed’ and out of the mix while successful villains continue in the potential cycle.
By no means do I see it finding the Top 4 Heroes or Top Big Bad – but it is a fun excuse to play nightly Sentinels. 🙂
The Cosmic Culling Commences tomorrow!
Bought the family Machi Koro for Valentine’s. Imagine we’ll be playing it often.
Probably some combination of Sentinels of the Multiverse, Spirit Island, and Between Two Cities.
I will be playing Champions of Midgard with some friends. It is a great worker placement game. If we have time we will also play Lords of water deep and Kingsburg.
