Still trying to bring my non-gaming girlfriend into the fold. Another couple of games of Carcassonne with her and my 11 year old daughter (with The River mini expansion, which is rapidly gaining favour).

Found a copy of “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – Angel of Darkness” in the cupboard, and took it out for a spin with my 11 year old daughter (who is up to speed on both board games and Tomb Raider!). Surprisingly enjoyable – although I’m not sure how often we’ll get it out.

As part of the ongoing introduction to games for my non-gaming girlfriend, we played Carcassonne (again)… this time adding “The River” mini expansion. Went down well!

Had our monthly games get-together in a local pub (6 of us). Played Mafia de Cuba, Mysterium, Spyfall, and Kakerlakenpoker Royal

I gave my 11 year old daughter free choice of what she wanted to play and she went for Qwirkle – so we played a few rounds. We’ve played Qwirkle a lot, but I still can’t get particularly excited by it. Game scoring tends to come out very close in the 2-player game, seeming more about luck than strategy. Perhaps I’m missing something?

I didn’t know about the original “Dead Man’s Draw”, but now I’ve ordered a copy. I’m really not sure what the current kickstarter project update adds that would be worth waiting until July for(?)…

Got Patchwork as a gift from my daughter and spent the weekend playing it with her on and off. Sweet little filler game.
