Titanium Wars - Tips & Strategies

My son loves this game but it seems that we don’t get to playing with the level 3 technologies at all. The game is over before we can utilize those technologies. We have played with starting at an increased technology level so we can reach those higher levels sooner. We also started with a little more money since those higher techs cost more.

Another idea was to set higher levels of points needed to end the game. This allowed for more strategic retreats and more building of your empire before the end. This only works after everyone is fairly quick with combat decisions and buying decisions. Otherwise it makes the game to long for what it is. With this idea, we would not boost the level of tech from the start.
