For us, in the 2-player variant of this game getting money enough to travel seems hard. The rules state to take dice of a different colour than is being played and place on the five coin spot, and first two favour spots. (all bottom left of board spaces). What happens is that even if you rolled a 1 at beginning of game it would always cost you $2 to use this spot, then more if someone else wanted to use it. Thusly really only getting maximum of $3 from the spot.

We eliminate the dice blocking the five coin making it easier for getting money for first person to go there and this seems to work well.
