“Blackjack Shoe and Discard Tray is perfect!”

When playing with younger kids, they many times forget to draw up a the end of their turn. They also tend to accidentally knock over the draw decks.

To remedy this, I purchased a Vegas style blackjack shoe and discard tray (only $15 on Amazon) which works excellently with this game and many others. I usually take the role of the dealer and “hit them” with a card at the end of their turn. (it’s also fun when they play a Jester and you get to deal a card from the show and flip it to see if they win a queen. It feels like a kid version of blackjack haha)

“Hit him again...”

My daughters discovered that if someone just defended off at knight or sleeping potion from another player, then it’s good strategy to immediately hit them again with the same card because chances are they’ve already used their defense card!

“Nothing but Defense”

Occasionally someone ends up with a hand of entirely defensive cards. We have house-ruled that in this case you may discard one of these to get a new card.

“Wake 'em ALL up!”

In order to get the most time out of a match with your kids, we’ve found that it’s more fun to play until ALL the queens are woken up. Sure it will probably lead to a blow out win for someone, but most of the time, they would have won at 4 queens anyway.

Try it! I think you’ll agree!
