“Buy two base sets.”

This is a phenomenal game…if you are looking to expand beyond just the basic set, I’d encourage you to look into purchasing a second basic set (or buy bisicle [the sister-game]) – you’ll get more bang for your buck than buying the small expansion packs.

“Bendable Rails Make for Great Pinch Points”

Unlike the much stiffer railings in Pitchcar, the more bendable plastic rails of Roadzters (and Bisikle) allow them to be used for more than just walls.

The rails can be bent into a partial U shape, and used as a pinch point on the track (the U portion of the railing sitting on the track itself). To do this, you’ll need to cut off the feet from the middle 3 or 4 posts, but then you’ll be able to bend the railing out over the track, cutting down the portion of the track the ball can travel over. You’ll still attach the remaining feet to the track so your new barrier will hold it’s shape for the race.

You’ll still be able to use the railing as a normal wall (though it will be a little “soft” at the points where the feet were cut off, so it may not be great for locations where the ball will constantly be hitting), but you can make a number of new obstacles. You can use one and cover an entire lane, you can use two on either side of the track to narrow down to a small gap in the middle, and you can add them to the inside of corners to force people to go through the outside of a turn. Or anything else you can come up with.

I often have a hard time defacing parts of a game, but I’m very pleased to have brought myself to cut off the feet of some railings and greatly increased my course building options!
