“Finish With A Sweatshop”

Early on, you can either take a strategy of going energy-efficient (saving you money), labour-efficient (saving you meeples), or a balanced strategy: and any of these can pay off, depending on your opponents and the energy price.

But in the final turn, no matter what you’ve done before, it’s almost always worth turning your finely-tuned factory into a sweatshop. Work out your storage capacity, and match your production to it by turning on the most energy-efficient machines first: these will not be your expensive robots (which consume more electricity), but will probably require lots of manpower. Only turn on the robots if the alternative would be to hire seasonal workers: you’re not going to need to be labour-efficient in the final turn anyway, because there’s no subsequent turn in which you’ll need those labourers with which to bid for turn order or install plant.
