“Double Up on Defense”

When trying to defend your species against a carnivore it is best to double up on defense, that way the carnivore must have several traits to combat this or they must use the intelligence card to start discounting your traits – this involves a lot of effort and may make other players’ species look tastier.

“Last Ditch Feed”

At the end of the game you do not receive points for cards remaining in your hand. If in the last round there is an abundance of plant food and some carnivores around, a last ditch effort to gain points may involve making a smaller species or two even if you know they will get eaten, as long as you can feed them before being eaten (since if they’ve already eaten you get to keep the food).
