“The length of play can be changed to fit your group”

You can change the length of this game as required by changing the end game goal from 30 points to less / more points, or simply giving everyone a certain number of turns at being storyteller.

It feels unfair to stop playing before everyone has had a turn at being storyteller if you’ve already reached 30 points!

“Specify The Type of Clue”

Playing with the same people and same cards can get a bit old. Rather than buying new cards you could change your game up a bit by specifying the theme or what kind of clue you can give, for example:

– A type of media computer games, films or books
– Give a rhyme, poem or a riddle
– Type of emotion
– Rather than say a word do an action (like charades)
– Complete a sentence e.g. “How I feel when I…”

“Don't be too obvious, nor too vague”

The idea, like the old saying goes, is to only fool some of the people all the time. If you fool everyone or no one it is detrimental to your scoring. So give clues that might match to your picture…but that are open enough to interpretation to be able to match some other picture.

So, in general, I never choose the first phrase that comes to mind when I first see the picture. I usually use the 4th or 5th thing actually.

“Need help with a new group?”

If you are playing with a group that is either being too descriptive or too vague you can make it more enjoyable by drawing a card and having the story teller shuffle it in (without looking at it) with the other cards, displaying it with all the cards to vote on. The players (including the story teller) can vote on the card that they think is the random card (we use green for the storyteller vote, and red for the random). Correct vote moves 1.

“people dont think about others cards!”

This problem occurs a lot. People are to wrapped up in their own cards and their own stories. This makes the game difficult for the rest who have nothing to put down and discourages people from wanting to play again. So before the game starts remind players to use general words and themes that ALL cards can touch on.

“Fun and Easy”

This is a pitcure version of Apple to Apples. You have to play a picture but give a clue to it so someone will guess it but not everyone as each player also plays a card and tries to get the others to vote for there cards
