“Concentrate on two colors, but...”

Grab a couple extra cards of the other colors to use to bid on gold at the auction phase. The hardest part is guessing correctly on which two to concentrate.

“Pass a token”

“Save the church cards for the auction”

Put the church cards in the auction whenever possible because it will only be then that you know which color to increase and decrease.

“The Blues and Browns”

The red, green, and yellow cards are worth one or two points. Blue and brown cards have values of one through four. With three and four point cards, blue and blown can be won with just a couple of highly valued cards.

“Roll the Dice at the Start”

Instead of setting the dice on threes, roll each of them. Then put the resulting rolls on their respective colors. The “Church” cards can still be used to raise or lower the die values. The added randomness will make the value of each color highly variable.
