I played Lords of Waterdeep with the expansion yesterday and lost to my wife. (made her happy) Won two games today of Settlers of Canaan against my wife. I plan on playing a solo game of either Memoir 44 or Tide of Iron later today.
GrandCon in Grand Rapids, Michigan:
Legendary Encounters, Battlestar Galactica (x2), Glen More, Ticket To Ride (USA & Europe), Defenders of the Realm (Richard Launius stopped by to see how we were doing!), Memoir ’44, Empire Builder, & King of Tokyo (x3).
Good fun, great folks, and a well-run Con.
On Saturday we finally finished off the second run through Pathfinder ACG: Rise of the Runelords and found those final scenarios to be easier the second time through–probably because we knew what was coming. I’m looking forward to starting Pathfinder ACG: Skull & Shackles weekend after this coming one.
Sunday my brother and I spent about four hours playing through Battle of Five Armies. I don’t have any experience with War of the Ring so it took a while to get the turn phases down. I’m expecting the next playthrough to be under two hours. Great game by the way. It will more than satisfy me until the reprint of War of the Ring is released, and even after it seems like Battle of Five Armies is unique enough to not be replaced by it’s bigger sibling.
Note to self, when traveling with games, ensure your destination has a surface to play games on. This was a possible, but challenging game to play on a king sized bed.
Last night I played a game of Splendor with my wife (she won 16-10), which is always fun.
I followed this with a solo game of Shadows of Brimstone, using the City of the Ancients core set. It’s a very cool game, and I look forward to more chances to play it.
Went to our annual board gaming event. We gathered 20 board gamers in a cabin in the woods for the entire weekend and brought along a huge collection of board games. I played the following games:
Space Cadets: Dice Duel Ave Caesar Dixit Odyssey Legendary Love Letter Firefly Bell of the Ball Tsuro of the Seas Avalon Blood Bowl Team Manager Bang! The dice game Sentinels of the Multiverse
We all had a blast and will be looking forward to next year’s event.
This weekend I played a lot of games that are not on this site…
Bling, Bling Gemstone
Coin Age
Star Realms (with and without the Gambit set)
Roll for it!
Pay Dirt
And more I am forgetting.
Quiet weekend at home with the family, but looking forward to next weekend as I’m going on a cabin trip. We’ll be 8 hard core gamers and a few of us will be going on Thursday and stay until Monday. Looking at the games people hope to play we’ll need that time…
Monthly gaming event included Hanabi and a five-player game of Mage Knight: The Board Game. And yes, the MK game took as long as everybody said it would. Not sure how often we will do that again.
Alright…got a lot of rounds of Star Realms in this weekend, both analog and digital. All my kids really enjoy it. Something about it wants me to play another round. Very addicting.
Also, the kids and I also got a round of Caverna: The Cave Farmers again..yes!
I also played a couple of rounds of King of Tokyo with Power Up and a round of Qwirkle with my seven year daughter.
Finally I managed to play a bit even though it was a hiking weekend. I brought Love letter and Zombie dice in my backpack ….. Thanks to the small size games
@Hai…thank you for your comment, Touch of Evil will definitely end on my shelf by the end of the year
Also I’m still waiting for my preorder copy of Shadows of Brimstone…I hope I will get it this year..crossing my fingers

Played Nothing Personal with a great group of friends. Now, we are enemies. That’s the price of gaming.

Broke out Magnum Opus again, and also played several games of Coup and went 1-1 against the xenos in Legendary Encounters. A good gaming weekend.

Two plays of Mansions of Madness and lots of plays of fillers.
