Happy Halloween! Last night we had an epic adventure fending off zombies in Zombicide: Toxic City Mall.
We didn’t make it to any conventions this year and decided to make tomorrow our own Games Day! It will be all games from 1-8pm, and then at 8:30 we’ll open it up to couples game night. Below are the games we’ll have in our Games Day library:
- Lost Legacy: The Starship – AEG
- Seventh Hero – AEG
- Sun Tzu (2ed) – Matagot
- Abyss – Asmodee
- Lords of Xidit – Asmodee
- Dead of Winter – Plaid Hat Games
I know I’ll be playing Glen More and Lost Legacy, but some Troyes might pop up. It’s my latest game and I’m fascinated by it.
Takenoko…the first game my wife really likes
Forbidden desert
Five tribes
Lord of waterdeep
The family is starting to love playing games on weekend and instead of playing games when we meet, we meet to play games….so cool.
We played Forbidden Desert (2x), Lords of Xidit, Good Cop-Bad Cop (4x), and Star Realms on Sunday. Saturday we were recovering from our sugar intake, so just some Dice Masters.
Played two games of X-Wing. One as Rebels, one as Imperials. Won both!
Played Saboteur 2 on Saturday which I found far superior with few people to the original Saboteur.
On Sunday we completed the first 4 adventures of Raiders of the Fever Sea for Pathfinder S&S. Did a character change as the owner finally got his character add on pack and 2 of us had very similar characters.
The wife and I played some Castles of Burgundy. Also got in a five player game of Lords of Waterdeep.
Friday – Halloweeny shenanigans
Saturday: Last Night On Earth:Season One home brew campaign costume party! Even though Sally died early on – she’s back thanks to We Thought You Were a Goner rules and in Woodinvale Survivor mode (which I have been able to keep alive for quite some time – just making me zombie hunted). Rounding out Team Hero: Mr. Goddard (deceased)into Sister Ophelia, The Eternal Cartwright (The Boy), and Sheriff Anderson (thought dead but returned in old school form and haunted by his past.) Team Zombie: Nurse Becky Zombie and Undead Sam chomping on a finger like a stogie. Three more scenarios to go next month (one of them Defend the Manor House which never goes well) and three Survivors waiting in the pool (but one of them is Father Joseph so make that…two).
Sunday– The Captain is Dead arrived Friday. Hot Chocolate and a two person/6 character try-out. 🙂 Time to see what this getting trounced Star Deco style that @Jeff W and @AccountDeletion have been discussing is all about. 😉
Hoping to break out Android Netrunner for the first time. Definitely some Star Realms and maybe Tsurro and Bang the Dice Game!
So far this weekend, I have played The Castles of Mad King Ludwig, Machi Koro, Abraca… what?, Colt Express, Coup: The Reformation, Red 7, Pandemic: The Cure, and Dragon Slayer.
This afternoon I want to play Town Centre, Cinelinx, and Cthulhu!!!.
Today at Comikaze Expo we played a demo of a game called Noir, which was pretty fun. I was happy to find a few gaming booths at this year’s con.
3 player Machi Koro, New Haven & maybe coup + love letter.
Trying out Dead Drop (PnP) and still hoping to get Fleet and Pastiche to the table.
Sunday is our Horror Games and Movies party: 3 game tables 2 large screens with movies.
Games on deck:
Dead of Winter
Mansions of Madness
Betrayal at House on the Hill
Last Night on Earth
Letters From Whitechapel
Elder Sign
Cthulhu!!!
Dead Panic
Gloom
Zombie Dice
I Hate Zombies
Today I bought the Crazed Caverns expansion for Munchkin Cthulhu, so we’ll be playing that tonight.
Managed to get in some Halloween inspired games with Eldritch Horror last night. Then tonight we went for some Elder Sign, Betrayal at House on the Hill and Rampage (cause hurling monsters works for Halloween)!
Planning on playing either D&D Attack Wing and/or Numenera tomorrow afternoon and Two Rooms and a Boomb for my birthday party tomorrow night.
@Account Deletion – I’m SO excited! It’s going to be a good winter for gaming.
I want to play Machi Koro, which I received yesterday! 😀
I was waiting for it and finally got it. 🙂
My parents are in town to meet their new granddaughter, and I hope to get them into Till Dawn. We played this with a small group of friends a few weeks ago and it was a huge hit! I’m confident it will finally displace Cards Against Humanity as the go-to party game for us (I hate party games in general, but I was always able to tolerate CAH… after playing it 20 or so times, however, I’ve had enough).
I will also make sure to get to Regnum Angelica and Draco Magi this weekend. I’ve had both for a few weeks now but haven’t found any 2-player time. Regnum Angelica particularly looks outstanding – I can’t believe a first-time designer was able to deliver on-time with such high quality components, and a game that looks quite unique and fun to boot.
@Budgie – enjoy Space Hulk! Just like you, it took me a few weeks to get the game ready to play. But the time you put into preparing it will be forgotten once you’re playing. We obsessively played it a dozen or so times before this recent splurge of Kickstarter rewards demanded attention.
Finally finished assembling Space Hulk! So definitely some of that! Also going to play some Draco Magi and start the D&D Attack Wing. Nothing too spooky for Halloween weekend. 🙂
