The art here is always great. I can’t wait to see all the different avatars that pop up in the future.
We need Sci-Fi style avatars. Futurama style!
These look great.
@Granny
It’s for a book and art show called – Steampunk: the Beginning
Coming out in April at the Begovich Gallery in Fullerton where those authors attended university together.
While there are a handful board games with this awesome theme I’m surprised that only a few of them could be considered popular.
Wouldn’t it have been neat if Ticket to Ride had been themed Steampunk.
@whatawhale
Ah, excellent. Blaylock and Powers are two of my favorites. I haven’t read anything by Cassandra Clare, but sure I will someday. I’d be interested to see what you are/were working on. Those authors get your mind a-wandering. 🙂
BTW For those who don’t know, Power’s On Stranger Tides was also the inspiration for the last Pirates movie. Book was better.
@Granny
You must have a latent psychic ability. The inspiration for this set was because Greg and I are were doing some illustrations of Homunculus, Anubis Gates, and Infernal Devices.
Ooooh, nice! I also like the possibility of Steampunk Packs in the future… Give me Gears or give me Death!
I’m debating getting The Tinkerer. So many great avatars, I will keep saying it over and over again, the art direction and style sets this place apart for all others. It’s fantastic!
I don’t remember what I wrote in my post, but I know for a fact that it wasn’t anything even remotely close to cursing. Why was it censored? I think the word there was just some adjective to help show my praise for the art.
Love the steampunk avatars, particularly the Inventor. All the art for this site is absolutely wonderful. Thanks so much!
More avatars I need to save up my coins for. Love The Inventor!
And then there is the ultimate steampunk movie –“The City of Lost Children” — one people either are mesmerized in delight with its creepiness and eye candy (like me) or loathe it as the worst movie ever made (like my wife). There does not appear much of an in-between opinion.
Thank you all for the advice, guys!
@Lozmoid
One of my favorite authors was one of the first to use “steampunk”, before it was called “steampunk.” Check out Digging Leviathan or Homunculus by James P. Blaylock. For games… Planet Steam is hard to beat.
Those are amazing! But, I’ve had the Orc for a while now, and I feel like it would be changing a brand name!
Nice job! I really like the artwork and the variety the site continues to provide.
The avatars you guys keep coming out with are great. I am especially impressed with the ****** composition and expression on the women. Exceptionally well done.
These are great!
