“Deep Raven & Div or Fairy Candymancer Combo”

I keep nearly two full pages of games constantly going on the iOS version (although I really love playing my physical copy with friends and beer). The one thing I seem to notice on every single one of my games where, Deep Raven is in the stack, is people avoid it like the plague. They seem to think getting Pax Pox is actually a really bad thing. Deep Raven gives you 4 VPs but “punishes” you with a Pax Pox.

For one thing, the World Destroyer allows you to use a Pax Pox in hand to avoid picking up another. However cards like Fairy Candymancer and Div let you delete the Pax Pox from your hand with a bonus of drawing another card in the case of the latter and gaining 1 power from the former. Even if you can’t delete the Pax Pox from your hand due to bad draws, the added +3 VPs from the Deep Raven are still quicker to obtain than spending 5+ Power to gain a higher level Red card.

“Deleting cards is great”

Much like any other deck building game, removing the starting resources from your deck helps alot, especially since this game allows you to buy multiple cards a turn. You should get at least one card that deletes cards from your deck. Faerie Candymancer is pretty amazing for this.

“Pax Pox is a "Stack"”

The official rules consider the Pax Pox stack to be an actual stack, as further evidenced in the iOS version. If you “delete” a Pax Pox it should go to your deleted cards pile, and since they can be deleted, they count towards your end game goal of finishing a boss stack or 6 other stacks.

“Werewolf with a Top Hat”

Any time Werewolf in a top hat is on the board, I try to go for a character that can easily go up the “Gamer” side. This card allows you to easily beat up either the Gamer or Evil boss pretty easily, sometimes in the same turn.

“Dominate with Natural 20s and a Werewolf with a Top Hat”

This will take a stroke of luck and a little luck with deleting as many Tokens and Cardboard Tubes as you can while maintaining a small deck. However the strategy involves getting 5 Natural 20s and a Werewolf with a Top Hat. The game both card-based and on iOS does not rule against the usage of this.

With that combination you can trigger each of the Natural 20s on the Werewolf with a Top Hat for a whopping 96 power and 96 power in a single round. Essentially this will allow you to dominate the boss decks and win the game in as few rounds as possible, thereby eliminating your opponents chance to amass points.
