When playing with my 5 year-old, we give bonus points for the person who completes the longest snake. This adds a little more strategy and decision-making as each player has to decide to shoot for lots of smaller snakes or the big kahuna. It also makes for moans and groans when a lucky tile helps someone link two longer, nearly-completed snakes.
