“Cards”

In this game to have any chance of winning you have to get a oil ability and keep it safe. If others get all of the oil, it only a matter of time until you die

“...military aid to minor neutral...”

By far the most powerful card in the game…and can be used to a great advantage if traded. The “black hoard” were winning easy. The “Grey ghost” traded with the “red menace” stipulating a 1 decade truce and threw in a few cards (M.A.T.M.N) as goodwill. Red obliged (good deal + on the least amount of points). Grey then “ATTACKED” (“MOVED”:-)) and used a plane to invade a minor neutral next to blacks capital. BOOM!!! red plays M.A.T.M.N!!! This moved had cost grey A plane ($15PP’S) and a couple of cards. The advantage was black now had to protect his capital and red had 4 pieces elsewhere…I was able to quietly win blitzing as black and red spent alot of resourses on building to aid in battling frontlines…

“Starting regions...”

Rules state to take turns picking regions one by one. This is great to start with but we did find that particular regions (India, Burma, Japan, South Africa, UK, Panama and any region attached MED) were a lot better strategically and defensively. We rectified this by randomly picking 3 and choosing the 4th. This generated a differing game every time…

“...what colour to play???...”

Grey…when placing ships spread them around the sea square…
they are the hardest to see and it is great to see an opponents face drop when he didn’t see that destroyer sitting off the coast of Madagascar…
