We’ve been pleasantly surprised with the upcoming Uncharted: Board Game and will be playing it some more this weekend in preparation for a full review. It might better be called “Uncharted: The Card Game that includes a Board to Help You Play”, but that would have been too long of a title. Yet maybe not for Bandai, take for example their title for the game Star Trek Deck Building Game: The Next Generation – Next Phase. I’ll let you be the judge 🙂
What will you be playing to start the month of June?
I played Imperial 2030 and Princes of Florence
Played a bunch of Settlers on Saturday with my family and then tried our hand at playing LOTR:TLG in “nightmare” mode. Was a pretty fun weekend. Wasn’t sure if you kept all your resources between quests in that version tho.
@Molimar
I made them myself on a laser cutter. There is quite the discussion going on in a thread over at the “other” boardgame site, but I’m not sure what the policy here is about linking to other sites. I’ll just say if you find yourself there look for the “Custom Meeple” thread on the game’s page.
I got to play the game again today, and while it is true it doesn’t really do anything new I really like it.
Finally got a copy of Epic Spell Wars and got a few games in this weekend with the GF and my sisters.
Played Deception Dice, Scallywags, Survive, One Way Out, GravWell and Carcassonne at Origins 2012.
Saturday-Ascension, Kingdom Builders:Nomads, Kairo, and Waalnut Grove.
Sunday-I will be at a party so only light stuff-Ranking, Can’t Stop, Toc! Toc! The Woodman. All in all a light gaming weekend for me.
@Danny
Where you get the custom Meeples? They sound cool!
I just finished playing Hawaii, twice in a row! Fun game. Lost miserably 😛
18AL (though mostly though email) – getting my first 18xx on!
@Bish If you like Tsuro, you should support the new Kickstarter version with a sea serpent.
I pulled off a few games of Tsuro w/ some friends that hadn’t played it before. After the first game, they both started cleaning up the tiles and getting ready for another game. They apparently enjoyed it.
I have a game day scheduled at the library on Sunday afternoon, but I’m hoping to get in some Lords of Waterdeep tomorrow at some point.
I just played Thunderstone Advance, and despite winning I didn’t really enjoy it that much. The lack of any penalty when losing a fight in the dungeon is the biggest frustration for me. Still, I won’t refuse to play.
I also got to play Lords of Waterdeep and got to use my new custom Adventurer Meeples instead of the cubes. It’s a little silly, but recruiting a couple of fighters and putting two little dudes with swords in my tavern rather than a couple of cubes really helped me feel the theme a lot more. It’s also quite a good game, nice and quick, easy to explain with lots of choices to make each round. It’s definitely a game I’d like to play more often.
On Sunday I hope to get at least one game in during the big weekly family gathring, maybe Citadels or Quarriors.
Going to try to break out Dungeon Petz, Pandemic…maybe Agricola and Chronicle too.
My plan is to really get into Mage Knight tonight and play a little Claustrophobia over the weekend. I also have several recent purchases I haven’t played yet and hope to try some of them out too — like Rattus, Core Worlds and maybe Fiasco!
Hopefully some Touch of Evil this weekend with the family.
I went closet diving and retrieved all my boxes of Netrunner ccg and I’m currently laying card aside to give to a friend who wants to play the game.
So, that’s what I’ll be doing most of this month and awaiting for Android:Netrunner to come out in August. (YYYEESSS!!!)
My sister and husband are coming to town so Im sure we’ll break out some games Sat. night after a trip to the zoo. Maybe some pandemic and quarriors.
Probably nothing. I’m doing volunteer work and then running a 10k. Sad! I do hope to work on some of my own stuff. How are people liking Omen? I’m on the fence about that one.
Arkham Horror again!
Now with Dunwich, Kingsport and Dark Pharaoh revised.
If I can persuade my partner and her sister, I will get out Discworld Ankh-Morpork on Saturday night as both are fans of the setting.
Plus this Sunday is Afternoon Play #20 here in Birmingham. I will have a copy of the new version of The Big Idea to try out, and I will be taking along German Railways too.
