We’ll be playing a few more rounds of Batman Fluxx and Chez Geek, as well as our first game of Castellan. After that it’ll be all about working in some long-neglected Kickstarter rewards – Transylvania and Dead Men Tell No Tales are at the top of the list.
What are you playing this weekend?
Did help a little to check what games you have played 😉
@inmarg
Yep, that’s correct!
@ Stratagon
Dice Masters then maybe?
I made peace with Hanabi this weekend. The game sadly had been neglected since my first few plays. So I played two games and enjoyed each of them.
light gaming this weekend. I got in Roll Through the Galaxy, Splendor and Star Trek: Settlers of Catan.
@inmarg, All guesses are correct and you are on the right track for #3.
I was at a big ol’ family reunion this weekend! I introduced my cousins to Tokaido, Sentinels of the Multiverse, Hanabi, and a little indie RPG I love called Microscope. They were all big hits with players ranging from 12 to 24 years old.
Keyflower, Machi Koro, Jamaica
@ Stratagon
Since no one has taken a shot at the quiz (except the all-knowing one) I’ll take my usual go at it:
1) Got absolutely no idea – maybe [redacted]?!? Couldn’t get anything from clues by Hai either..
2) Survive or Escape from Atlantis as I preferably know it as. One of my first “real” boardgames.
3) No idea really, but seems like one of the quarriors like games with a Marvel theme.
4) Got to be Chaos in the old World
5) Catan w/ Cities & Knights featuring Hai’s new version of wood for sheep.
Finally something other then LotR:LCG..
Finished up the weekend with a trip to som efriends finishing the opening chapter of the opening adventure of the latest Pathfinder:ACG.
The games I’ve played with my group were Gloom and Nations, good times were had
Fairy Tale Games: Battle Royale.
@Hai
1 – Yep
2 – Correct
3 – Spot on with bonus!
4 – Affirmative
5 – I think I’m blushing! And yes, you have the answer!
Wooo! Epic Game Day Quotes! Time to get my oblique on!
1) I had two options in my head – but it was easy enough to break the tie. If you played one more game I would have listed this out of order and made it #6. (written with a Black Sharpie)
2) Fun Fact: I once played this in NY while visiting a friend, but never in LA. To ape your old review shtick: I would want to play this with a damp Plissken.
3) I think I know – but not the version. Maybe. What’s that 80’s movie? The one where a robot doesn’t like Molly Ringwald.
4) This one is easy. A game you got me interested in, but not Yedo.
5) If you said ‘raise my Aqueduct’ I would applaud you for inventing a new innuendo for this game. At its core, it used to be referred to as part the first but is now referred to as part the last. I’d usually reserve gateways for BG virgins, but in a way, you made it to third base.
Oh and….
HIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Epic Game Day quotes (one from each game, can you guess them?):
(First two are from a Meet-up Game Night)
1 – Dude, I am totally your ally. I wish you didn’t have to use your garrote on me first to believe me. Now let’s get this Russian document to the chopper and get out of here!
2 – I feel really bad about sinking that beach with your guy standing on it. Here climb in this boat and we can row to safety before we get killed.
3 – You take 4 damage after Hulk hits with Overcrush, since he was Level 3 he comes back to the Field as a Level 1. (Bonus points if you can name what specific version…)
4 – Now that you canceled my Field of Ecstasy with Changer of Ways, this maniac is going to get the three ticks that he needs to win through dial advancement. *looks at sky* KHOOOOOORRRRRRRNNNNNNEEE!
5 – I will trade you three cloth for two paper so I can finally build my Aqueduct.
Sorry — the edited word wasn’t my intent to have it edited… I’m ok with that word not being used out of context, so I understand. But the edit downed actually make it look worse than the original! Hee.
Ok… One new game: Specter Ops! Got two games in this weekend with a few other things… Zombie Dice and another round of Memoir 44. Wife and middle really like Specter and the Memoir was an Eastern Front epic with my youngest.
Also an outdoor weekend, though HOT! Neighboring town’s fest and European Dragracing championships at the Hockingheim Ring. Ever seen 40,000 Germans getting their ******* on?? Plus a nice hike up to a castle ruin. Fun times.
Tried out Exploding Kittens that just came in the mail. Also played some Takenoko, Machi Koro (with 5 people thanks to the expansion), Zombie Dice, Qwirkle, and Antidote.
We busted out some Myth and Game of Thrones yesterday with the gaming group. Today is a day full of Descent ans Zombicide with the family.
I just received my KS copy of Artifacts Inc in the mail from Red Raven Games. I’m excited to get it to the table for a test run. No doubt, my daughters and I will forage our way through the Marvel and DC universes in some epic games of Dicemasters. What a great game!
