About Me
I started designing games for my friends, continually dragging more of them into the hobby. This went on for about 15 or so years (and still goes on). In the process of that, my friends and Wife (who, of course, games with us) demanded that I publish one of my creations; The King's Armory, the Tower Defense Board Game.
Praise God for good friends. Without them, without YOU, we wouldn't be here now. Thanks for everything.
The Settlers of Catan
The best gateway game still out there!
Mayfair owns half the gaming world because of this one. It’s fantastic stand alone, or with expansions. I recommend using this one to bring new players to the table but doing so in only a 3 player game. Lots of resources online for player-generated terrain tiles too that allow “house ruling” to go to the next level here.
Cities and Knights is a-ok I suppose but is a sure-fire way to scare away new players. Seafarers is great just because it allows you to rock out larger and crazier maps, something that it is a lot of fun to develop. Even the game manual there gives great set up rules for alt game play. I’m not a fan of any of them, but at least they exist and are a great jumping off point for your own ideas.
