Good stuff
Why must Thunderstone keep tempting me? Time to make my XMas list!
Tremendous games – thank you Account Deletion!
I love explorables – they encourage me to discover, or re-discover the loveliness!
@HaiKulture, Oh, for larger wishlists indeed…I suppose I shall have keep exploring!
@Topdecker Huzzah for being this week’s Spotlight Shelf and bringing some cool stuff to the Explorables. And thanks to @Account for making all those links happen. 😉

Thunderstone (I’m not linking it – it’s right here) was my first deck builder and I never looked back. (Even if I made the squint eye when the Thunderstone:Classic and Thunderstone:Advanced were said-to-be-but-no-not-really-that’s-why-we’re-eventually-doing-Worlds-Collide-and-not-using-some-of-the-best-stuff backwards compatible. What is this? Console Gaming?) Problem is it left Dominion completely flat for me. Ye old student surpassing the master scenario which I’m sure makes AEG very happy. I think I received it for the holidays 3-4 years ago and the next day went out to the FLGS to get the expansion. The day after that – off to track down the other one that was out at the time.
It is safe to say ‘The Thunderstone gathers no moss in our house.’

@Cody Me too Quantum looks neato. (Oh to have bigger wishlist shelving ;))
@Mekanikal Don’t let the label Starter fool you. It’s just a cheap small set for people who want to test the Thunderstone waters without spending money on the big box. All the heroes, baddies, and village items are unique and pop into the Advanced base. You just get stuck with some extra starter decks for it.
Well, now I want Quantum.
i have every thunderstone advance set except for the starter one. the game is great with other people, but i really enjoy playing it by myself. i have 3 separate sets i use when i decide to play. all of them are fun!
Make me want to replay Thunderstone Numerena…the same game but with a sci-fi theme
Quantum is already on my wishlist but is not in the top ten
Learning about Thunderstone really made me want to get it!
@AD Great adds this week! I hadn’t heard of either of these games (dark hole resident I guess), but Thunderstone is definitely on my wish list now!
Thunderstone is my favorite deckbuilder. I like what the dungeon aspect does for the game.
Quantum looks interesting. I definitely want to give it a try sometime.
I have always been this close to getting Thunderstone, but never have. Someday I will need to remedy that.
@SP – my pleasure! While I volunteered to do “work” for the site, I’m having a lot of fun with this!
I too love both of these games. In fact, your review (and the awesome picture on the game page) was responsible for putting Quantum on my Wish List. 6 months later and it’s still in regular rotation. I agree particularly with your point that it’s a great 2-player game that doesn’t require a “dummy player” (As with you, “dummy players” irritate me, though I suffer it for Ghost Stories). Much appreciated!
Two more great games! Dominion was my first deckbuilder, but I love what Thunderstone brings to the table. And Quantum has dice-ships, how can you go wrong?
Love seeing these explorables more frequently. Thanks Account Deletion!
