So of all places to find a copy of Star Wars: X-Wing Miniautres Game I found one at Target. Next time you see one it’s worth checking out their selection. They don’t come close to a local game store of course, but what they are doing is helping to change board games from being a hobby to being something everyone does by offering a selection of “hobby” games that are a taste of the MUCH larger (and better, in my opinion) selection of games that are out there!
Now after all that tangent, this weekend we’ll be playing more X-Wing and Level 7 [escape]. Both are my current favorites!
What are you playing this weekend?
Starting with a game of Mage Knight then learning how to play Star Wars X Wing.
Star Wars: X-Wing! And maybe more Netrunner. And L5R.
I’m not sure yet what I’ll be playing. It’s my wife’s birthday week so we’ll hopefully finally get in a game of Fiasco with a group of friends. Possibly Alien Frontiers and Lords of Waterdeep maybes. Going to try to convince wide to play X-Wing (she kicked my but first time she played last week, though I built her squad) and Tournay, which is the last remaining game from Gen-Con I have yet to play.
I probably will play Catan, War of The rings and Dominion, hope will get the time to play 7 Wonders ans Agricola… and if my order arive i will play lots and lots of Gloom!!
I’ll play all the D&D Next I can manage!
Also I’m hoping to play Kings of Tokyo and Stone Age at Ludus “ludery”, a really cool board game house and bar where you can gather with friends, drink and eat and play with the help of specialized game explainers who teach and bring the game for you on your table!
This weekend will be Android: Netrunner….Lots and lots of Netrunner. 😀
Well, this weekend started on Thursday, when I participated Spill-O-Rama IX. A yearly happening, when 100 hardcore boardgamers from Norway and a couple of other countries, gather together for 4 days, playing as many games, as you can. I’ve played over 15 different games. I do remember some, like: Kingsburg, No thanks, Castle of Burgundy, Colosseum, Airlines Europe, Troyes, Core Worlds… Nearly all of them, was for the first time.
This is an excellent opportunity to play games, that you wanted to play for some time, but was to lazy to learn. 🙂
There I met Elida, who informed me of Boardgaming.com
Happy happy joy joy
I broke out Deadlands: Doomtown CCG from my storage. I haven’t played it in years! I remember loving this game. This coming weekend…I’m gonna play a test game with myself to see if it is as awesome as I remember.
I read that people are pushing Fantasy Flight to consider it as a Livin Card Game. Speaking of that…I really want to play Netrunner
Every friday and saturday evening our group comes together. last weekend we played (to name some) Bang! the bullet, ticket to ride, infiltration and Earth reborn (first time, was awesome!)
Thx Kaozz, for the game infiltration 😀
I consider Monday night part of my weekend: game group played GLOOM (my 1st, like it alot), FAMILY BUSINESS (just ok), 7 WONDERS (w/ Cities & Leaders, very fun), and, because it was US Constitution Day, FOUNDING FATHERS (pretty good game). Of those, only 7W is on this site (sad face)…
Played a few games of Dominion, which the wife loves and also one game of small world.
After a rocky start, we got in 2 fun filled games of Mansions of Madness.
I went in thinking it was a keeper vs. investigators game, and one of the ending cards said all players lose. I almost table flipped in response 🙁
My group played a couple games of King of Tokyo and signed our Risk: Legacy board.
I also squeezed in a few games of Netrunner. That game is intense! Now that I have a friend with his own decks it has become a lot harder to gauge when to make what calls. It’s a blast, but I need to sharpen my skills. My friend played the original game and I am tired of losing.
Played some more Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective with my daughter, then a round of Castle Panic with my son and daughter. About all I had time for this weekend, because it was really busy.
Got in Word on the Street, X-Wing (8 player 130 pt. fleet that Scott mentioned below), 7 Wonders with Cities, Trajan, Hansa Teutonica and Rattus with a bunch of expansions.
Had some non-gamer friends visit this weekend, so we kept it light with group games of Nuts, Bang!, Resistance, Saboteur, Shadow Hunters, and Werewolfe. By the end everyone was paranoid and had gained +2 levels in their abilities to lie. 😉
Well, it turns out that our new acquisition this week was Tsuro. We’re all really pleased with that purchase and have had a few very enjoyable games. It is already well on the way to becoming a family favourite.
NWIBGA Sept All-Day Game Day! woot!
Played: Dixit (Odyssey w/ 8), The Resistance (w/ 10!), Star Wars: X-Wing (4v4, 120 pt squadrons!), Walking Dead (tv. ugh.), Shadow Hunters (6P), Dixit (again!), and We Didn’y Playtest This At All (+Dice Are Fun expansion). Great games, great day!!!
Colosseum, A castle for all seasons and Glory to Rome rounded up my weekend of gaming. I also observed Riff Raff in game. Looked like fun! 🙂 And at the gathering I won Hamburgum
Geeks Go Gaming is on today in Dublin. It is organised through google+, just do a search for it and you should find it. I brought Infiltration along so I may get a game of that in. After that it very much depends what games were brought along by people.
I also have Netrunner and Cthulhu decks with me in case there is a chance to play those with some of the others there.
Played: Infiltration, The Resistance and Call of Cthulhu LCG – a great Sunday afternoon.
