This weekend we’re planning to take City of Iron for a spin. To continue with the steampunk theme we’ll get in some games of Warmachine: High Command as well.
Did not get in near the gametime I had hoped for. I did play some games of Forbidden Island, a couple of which were noteworthy for their brevity. My wife and I’s first game ended in victory very quickly with no land lost. Having a combo of Messenger and Pilot I believe factored greatly into that.
The second game ended in despair even faster, as Fool’s Landing was flooded at the beginning of the game, then the first water’s rise card was drawn on the second turn, and the first card chosen after the shuffle was Fool’s Landing.
Also at NW Indiana Boardgamers’ Association 3rd Anniversary Party & All-Day Game Day! (Had to coach out-of-town, tho, so got there halfway thru).
QWIRKLE (won), ran Giant Soccer PITCHCAR (played on an indoor soccer field, kicking soccer balls as cars), TELESTRATIONS, RAILWAYS of N.AMERICA (our variant), and a 22-Player game of TWO ROOMS & A BOOM.
I only got to spend a few hours at the Northwest Indiana Boardgamers Association 3rd year celebration on the 10th, but got to play Android Netrunner and Agents of SMERSH with the new Swagman’s Hope expansion.
My sister-in-law and her family bought us Hanabi, so I got to play a few games of that this weekend. I like it. It’s pretty simple, but seems like it could have some depth once you get better at it.
In deference to Mother’s Day, we let the Gamer Bling Official Companion choose. She, of course, chose Carcassonne. She won by 101 points. Yours Truly uncharacteristically came in a distant last place. O.o
Northwest Indiana Boardgamers Association 3rd year celebration has ended. 14 hours of gaming, 11 games played by me. Not sure on final count of players present but it was packed most of the day.
Games played by me: Android: Netrunner, Bang! Dice Game, Tapple, Forbidden Dessert, Zooloreto Dice, Crokinole, Dread Curse, Lewis & Clark, Antiquity, Two Rooms and a Boom, and X-Wing.
I’m not sure what will be played, to be honest. Given that it’s Mother’s Day, I’m sure my wife will have her pick, so likely Dominion Intrigue and a version of Clue.
It probably won’t be a wiz bang weekend, but we’ve already played some Eight Minute Empire Legends, Once Upon a Time, and Marvel Dice Masters. Tomorrow, we’ll probably play some Splendor, more Dice Masters, and maybe Ancient Horrible Things. Francis Drake came this weekend, so maybe I’ll read through the rules and give it a go.
I’m working on my prototype this weekend as well. I just got my dice blanks. The stickers fall of the pipped dice after awhile. These are nice and smooth, and stickers stay put. There’s something cool about blanks… thinking about the design possibilities. On Sunday, the prototype will be ready for a first run through…fingers crossed.
Oh yeah… Sunday is Mother’s Day, and we are taking my mom to a park for a picnic and bike ride. Then, it’s back to the house for beer and board games.
We just picked up our fourth expansion for Dominion so I am sure we will be playing a number of rounds of that.
Played Steam Park this weekend and I’m a great fan of it!

Any games are better than no games!

Should get in several hours of Canasta today. A few games of Sentinels and Carcassonne for good measure.

Ended up playing Ancient Terrible Things , my second time getting it to the table. Everyone really enjoyed it.

@akden I’m jealous none of the FLGS here got the first shipment of Marvel. O am playing Pathfinder today.
It’s my birthday! Games will be played. Don’t know what yet, but it will be a blast!
I have a copy of 8 Minute Empire to try out if I have time, as well as new game called Next England Captain which is not out yet.
Probably playing more Marvel Dice Masters this week-end, but I won’t get much more gaming in. We’ll be having Mother’s day festivities, instead.

Happy Mother’s Day all you mothers!
Got some Dominion in last night. But, sadly, I don’t know if it’s in the cards to fit in any more gaming this weekend.
Pun proudly intended.
