What are you playing this weekend? (March 14)

It’s been quite the week! If we have the chance to get a game in this weekend I’m going to try and make it be The Doom That Came to Atlantic City.

What are you playing this weekend?

Well after an extremely busy weekend, the kids and I squeaked out some King of Tokyo with Power Up (my son loves Pandakai), and my daughter beat me by one point in Core Worlds: Galactic Orders.

As usual, I’m 0 for 4 in my predictions for the weekend.

Awesome gaming weekend! Started the weekend off with Zombicide and Spartacus, as well as a new favorite, Boss Fight. After a few drinks we broke out The Resistance followed by Red Dragon Inn.

While not a board game, our group enjoyed the mobile game Space Team during down time. Space Team is 4-person cooperative game that requires all players to have a mobile smart phone and be within shouting distance of each other. Each player has a different control panel and receives individual commands that must be verbally relayed to and then executed by other members of the team. It’s ridiculously fun way to pass the time after you’ve been knocked out of a game early (A game of Space Team lasts between 2-5 minutes).

@MChez Recon isn’t my cup of tea or The Boy’s so we won’t be delving into that. I just find it interesting that MERC launched a campaign while MYTH still trickles around to doorsteps. I don’t know if that is good or bad – guaranteeing some people are immediately hopped up on MYTH juice for Recon or still tapping their foot about their shipment. MYTH being hot will be good for Recon, but it has to be hot AND got. 🙂 Rumor mill says NY/NJ is next so hopefully PA soon since they seem to be working down from @Paladin. I know I will be in a Gamer Isolation Chamber for a weekend once the big box of M arrives. 🙂

I do have to get hands on the new DC Heroes myself. I need some mindless cape romp. Checking Cryptozoic’s page last night it appears a smaller expander is in the works also rather than a re-base. 🙂

And don’t say the H-word – it is still burning my ears 🙁

I was in an Overpower CCG tournament 3 hours from home this weekend. But I managed to squeeze in two games of DC Comics DBG with someone totally new to this type of game. Afterwards he went on ebay and bought a copy!! Another convert!!

After a rough week of little to no gaming sadly, it was nice to get a couple of hero games in last night. DC: Heroes Unite and a nail biting Heroes of Metro City. Hoping to keep the cape theme going and get a game of Sentinels of the Multiverse in tomorrow as it’s been way too long.

@Hai I’m going back and forth over RECON myself. I waffled with MYTH and I’ve kinda regretted it. Don’t want to miss out again. That said, as much as the game looks fun to me, I don’t know if my gaming group (i.e. the wife) will care to play it, and the co-op design look like it might be very easily dominated by an alpha player from the video. Kickstarter, why do you tempt me so?

Finally bought Pandemic “In the Lab” and the card sleeves required to convert my ‘vintage’ version with the new artwork of the expansion. A few more plays, and I’ll add a review

I just left Planet ComiCon in Kansas City, MO where Wil Wheaton is playing in a game of Sentinels of the Multiverse with a friend of mine. Had to miss it due to work, but it’s awesome that he’s supported the local gaming group and a charity by jumping into that for the second year in a row. I’ll play a game of that myself this weekend. Also will likely play Agents of S.M.E.R.S.H. and I hope to get in a demo play of Transylvania: Curses & Traitors (coming to KickStarter soon) by the awesome people at WIBAI Games.

@Drobobobot, I hope you enjoy them. TtR: Europe is pretty cool, but I absolutely LOVE Smash Up. Looking forward to getting the Obligatory Cthulhu expansion in the mail on Monday.

Hosted another game night with the college-age group at the church. We grew from 15 last month to 25 this month! So many games were going on, I don’t think I caught them all.

I played Fleet with expansions, Mascarade, Lords of Warterdeep with expansion, Avalon a countless number of times, and Incan Gold.

I know that Tier auf Tier, Tsuro, Ticket To Ride, Carcassonne, and Bohnanza was also played at other tables.

@Paladin Ho ho! 😛 Well – obviously it was an enjoyable experience and I would like to catch your thoughts on it

What general area are you in if you don’t mind me asking? The Boy backed this one so update details I get second-hand – they seems to be shipping via area and pledge level. I think we were the double monsters pledge level (but we might have boosted to that in pledge manager. I do know we are all in.) I guess as MYTHS start arriving RECON will get a major boost

@Jon New Kickstarter widget is a great idea ;);) Great for members as a tie in to the wonderful weekly Kick Updates and to drive Kickstarter developers to the site to find support (and create Avatars!) 😉

@HaiKulture Sorry for the delayed response! I couldn’t hear your post over the rattle of orange ten-sided dice across my tabletop! 😉

I cannot wait to write a review of MYTH. I may jump it forward in the line ahead of Archipelago and Ingenious. (I’m way behind on my reviews.)
