Unfortunately there are way too many unwrapped presents in our house to play games this weekend. At best we might be able to sneak in a quick round of Machi Koro or something similarly brief.
Sounds like you are having a fun gaming holiday. 🙂
Aside from the snappy title Science Fiction Double Feature (By RKO-OH-oh) I didn’t delve into the cards. Much like Sentinels I like to play new decks cold so they are a surprise to revel in. 🙂 And although full tilt Smash-Up went to Epic Gaming Day on Saturday, everyone wanted to try the Munchkin sets. But more Rocky Horror?…and probably a Doctor Who joke or two I imagine. I might just have to take a peek. 🙂
I got an expansion of Tide of Iron for Christmas, “The Fury of the Bear”. I like the fact that it has three different Soviet tanks; T_34,SU_122, and the KV_1. It also comes with a Soviet and German anti-tank guns. I played one of the included scenarios, and liked it. You get 9 map boards, most with snow terrain, all double sided. With these I can create Winter War, Battle of the Bulge, and Soviet winter scenarios.
@Hai Smash Up:SFDF was one of my favorite expansions for a while. They’re fun factions that are easy to introduce to other players. Plus the Rocky Horror references make it worth it.
I was lucky this year and received and played quite a few games. Since Thurs. I have played: Love Letter, Timeline, Smash-Up, Sentinels of the Multiverse with the newly acquired Wrath of the Cosmos, also Bottom of the 9th and Machi Koro .
More importantly I was able to play most of these with friends and family who I don’t always have the opportunity to see, which made it all the more fun. Also happy to use gaming as an ice breaker for that/those cousin(s) I don’t really have anything in common with…
Cheermas Day was a big ball of holly jolly chaos but when the dust settled the new cardboard for the checklist purposes:
From The Nieces: Munchkin OZ and Munchkin Smash Up
From a B-Other Secret Santa: Warhammer Quest:Adventure Card Game, Mansions of Madness: Forbidden Alchemy, & a Broken Token tray for Lords of Waterdeep
From a Not-So-Secret-Santa Twitmas Gift Exchange: Merchant of Venus & Smash Up: Science Fiction Double Feature (I now own all the Smash Up – ALL OF IT!!!!)
The Boy Received From Me: DC Deck Build: Teen Titans, FRAG: FTW, Awesome Kingdom of Hateskull, Nexus Ops 2.0, and Libertalia (which was much like self-gifting)
I received my standard Flying Frog stocking stuffers and Munchkin packs
but in light of the Merchant of Venus Fiasco 2015 he really went crazy: YEDO (WOOOO!) Chaos in the Old World (HA-CHA!)
And this is the scary one – Fury of Dracula 2ed IN SHRINK! I’m afraid to ask questions about this one, afraid to touch it, afraid to look at it, and afraid to open it.
I merely asked ‘Do you still have your soul?’
In an hour or so we head to an Epic Game Day and Gift Exchange with our friends. Big party, gaming, and a belly full of shrimp for this gal. I have a feeling there will be an engagement ring being shown off – I’m sure mine is better. It’s a little beat up, but it is in shrink and sans a chuckling Liberace.
@The BGdot A Merry Cheermas to all and to all a good game!
May your tabletops be unflipped, filled with joy and laughter into the new year and may your shelves be gifted with new acquisitions. May the scent of wassail and fresh cardboard fill the air and may dice bless us, everyone.
Merry Christmas!
I wrapped up an eight game Eldritch Horror “Mythos Marathon,” one game against each of the Ancient Ones (still waiting for my Under the Pyramids to arrive). Only won one of eight games, appropriately enough against Ithaqua since it’s winter, but had a blast.
I also set a new personal record… lost the Shub-Niggurath game in just four rounds lol.
I played Splendor, Switching Tracks, and 12 Days of Christmas. I am gearing up for what I’m calling Challenge 2016 which is playing 100 new games(games that I’ve never played before).
Taking smalls and easily-taught games to my sister’s for Christmas, and giving away multiple party games as gifts. Last year got a lot of mileage out of Letters from Santa (Christmas Love Letter) and Guildhall, so those are coming back, as well as Paperback; looking forward to my (adult) nieces and nephews joining in for Codenames and Telestrations after the unwrapping is done.
– Warhammer Quest, the adventure game
– Catacombs
– Merchant of Venus
– Viticulture the essential edition
– Achaia
– Lord of Ice garden
– Time Stories a Prophecy of Dragons

Merry Christmas everyone! Have a joyful and exciting time with friends and family this holiday season!
Merry Christmas to all in the land of Boardgaming.com. I hope you all have safe and wonderful holidays.
LOTR: Confrontation, Star Realms, and Codenames so far.
Star Wars Risk, War Stories: Liberty Road, and Dead of Winter coming up. That’s before presents get opened. I love the holidays.
We should have the topic be- what did we add to our collection this week… I didn’t get anything played, but this coming weekend should be full.
Merry Christmas everybody! Just in case I am too busy to write on the big day.

@ Inmarg
I know, it was like Christmas before time.
I’m on vacations up to January 11th, so much to play during the holidays…

@ Lone Token
Just slightly envious at that list…
Finished the weekend with a relaxing game of Takenoko with the kids and a solo play of my Kickstarter copy of Argonauts.
