We’ve been playing City of Remnants and everyone has really enjoyed it, so that will be hitting our table this weekend in preparation for our full review. If we have time we’ll also be trying out Tokaido.
My wife is ultra-competitive to the point where she generally won’t want to play any other games until she’s beaten me at least once in a game. Garden Dice was particularly frustrating for her, as I came away with victory after victory. Good thing she still enjoys the game! Of course, she loves to play games that rely upon dice-rolls, which is (usually) where I lose. I’m thoroughly convince that somewhere an evil dice king is laughing at my terrible rolling misfortunes.
I hope to introduce my group to Galaxy Trucker this weekend, along with Police Precinct (which keeps getting pushed to the side, sadly).
@Granny Yes, my wife is ultra-competitive and a gamer. The only downside is that sometimes, if I win against her in a game, she doesn’t want to play that game again. 🙂
I lost to my wife at Ingenious… she beat me multiple times. Does anyone else have trouble losing to their significant other? I mean, you get married to them because they are smarter than you… but garshdarnit… do they need to prove it all the time? My ego is bruised, but healing slowly. I will practice on my iPad and prepare for our next battle royal. On the bright side, she always enjoys battering me senseless, so I always have a gaming partner. 🙂
Had a good, if frustrating, game day on Saturday. Lost miserably at both Power Grid and Carcassonne; the former because of some poor computations early in the game that I never recovered from, the latter because it was my third time playing ever (with long time gaps between) and I didn’t realize that you didn’t need to finish a castle to get points for it at the end of the game (I played a couple of tiles on other peoples castles thinking I was making it more difficult for them to close, which I was, but I was really just giving them more points!).
Race for the Galaxy treated me better; crushed the first round with a hybrid military-production economy and tied for second place in the second round.
Well, I ran DnD 4e for the second party on Saturday and that was a blast, we had some absentees so put together a quick NPC that turned out to be a big hit! Afterwards I tried out Star Wars LCG and really liked it! Can’t wait to pick up a set for myself! All in all, a good gaming weekend!
I picked up King of Tokyo a couple days ago. With a few young children in the home, short fast games seem the way to go at this stage. Even so, it’s hard to find the opportunity to play. Maybe today we’ll get a chance to try it out! Although digital is not my preferred way of gaming, it is often the only option, and lately I’ve gotten a bit addicted to San Jaun.
We played Smash Up , The Resistance and Formula D yesterday at our two weekly game meeting.
It was a lort of fun playing The Resistance again , blaming people when you are the spy is always fun 😀
I will attend a monthlty gaming meeting where I will play: Hive, Shadows over Camelot + Merlin Expansion, Age of Empires III + Builder Expansion, Mexica and Mansions of Madness.

Playing a little Fluxx and Resistance. Really into the social games at the moment. Lots of laughing.

Ingenious! Great game!
I have the version travel (for 2 players) and sometimes my girlfriend and I play.

We played many games of Seasons until the sun came up.

Got in Android, The Adventurers: Temple of Chac, Tammany Hall, and Chinatown all on Saturday.
Stone Age (with Style is the Goal expansion).
Uno and Magic… I was being successful in testing a Dimir deck I created.

Got the change to play Forbidden Island and Mice and Mystics. Finally beat Chapter 2. That took us three run throughs.

This weekend- just a quick game of Ace of Spies.
Friday we played Defenders of the Realm and kicked the games butt for a change. Then moved on to Fantasy Bussiness
Saturday: Mageic The Gathering
Sentinels of the Multiverse (with all the expansions) and Eminent Domain.
We played Smash Up , The Resistance and Formula D yesterday at our two weekly game meeting.

Last night played Cards Against Humanity and Poo! Had a good time with some friends. Maybe some more Sunday.
We are looking to play Android (the original, not Netrunner) today.
