Backing a project can be a great thing, but please do the research on a game before you put money into it. Happy exploring!

Journey is the most beautifully-done game I have ever seen. It looks like the guys in charge are trying VERY hard to do everything well and they are on track IMO!
gahh, the upgrade bonuses on many of these are crazy. I need to just keep my money and wait till they actual produce distribution copies
Hi all!
I am the sales and marketing manager for 1A Games; we now produce Tide of Iron (under license from FFG). We’ve got a Kickstarter for the new edition of Tide (due out in March) running right now. One of the rewards you can claim for your support is a copy of the first new expansion for TOI in almost 3 years(!) – Stalingrad.
The KS is listed in this week’s article (above), but here’s a link to it as well.
Thanks!
Tide of Iron:Next Wave
Too many nice games! I can’t look!!
I suppose it’s hard to do anything original these days, but the cover of CityCouncil looks very similar to SimCity Societies combined with some productivity clip art in the background. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/File:Simcity_societies.jpg
Dead Man’s Draw looks like a great on the road, vacation/camping style game.
Do you like fun? How about gut busting laughter? A game you can play with family and gamers alike? Check out Space Junk, our first game from Lamp Light Games! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/112392540/space-junk
I’m backing City Council. It looks to be a very interesting game of city building with a good bit of negotiation built in. Watch the Rahdo Runs Thru review of the game which highlights the game very well, and frankly sold me on it.
@penta: yeah we’ve been trying to get the name out there but we don’t have a lot of funding and it’s an open source game. So really my brother isn’t expecting to make tons of money on it, we just wanna get some boards to the world. Technically anyone can take the idea and make their own boards since it’s under creative commons licence.
Here’s another one I found: City of Zombies. It’s pitched mainly as an educational game, but is nicely presented and looks a serious cut above most other educational games I have ever seen…

None of these are very appealing to me right now. That one your brother made seems pretty neat though Roland. Did you think about doing more advertising?
Many of the same games again, but Faëria looks interesting.
I looked at several of these the other day:
Pandante looks beautiful, but when I watched the video it looks a lot like playing poker. The chips are very nice, but I’m going to pass. I already have friends who like to play poker, and I’m sure they’re level of intoxication will not help with 2 extra suits covered in pandas.
Shadows of Brimstone has a lot of very cool miniatures to it. Being a completist, it was going to cost me about $250 to get everything. I’m still mulling it over.
Mars Attacks also has very cool, detailed miniatures, but I just don’t think I’d ever play it. There’s too many other things out there.
Happy Kickstarting!

If you’re a fan of anything Myst, check out Unwritten…but also check out the new game coming out by Cyan, the makers of Myst.

It’s not a board game, but Myst touched so many people and gamers that I thought it’s worth a mention.
Another game I found that I am currently backing! It’s by my brother and is really fun! =)
