@ Cranekick, Unless directed by the chapter rules, after each chapter, you remove all cheese, wounds, and status tokens from your mouse. Select one search card to keep in addition to the mouse’s starting equipment, keep all ability cards earned so far and keep any story achievements the mice have earned along the way.

Finched, it sounds like you are mistaking the hourglass and the story end marker.

Thanks for trying out Mice & Mystics. I’m a firm supporter of people’s opinions. I’m glad to find out that you did in fact play the game before posting an impression, but even if you hadn’t, it’s perfectly fine to form opinions and voice them freely. As the game’s designer, I certainly hope your gloomy predictions do not come true, and I will be doing all I can to support my game system and its fans.

The game comes with 18 encounter cards, 9 regular ones and 9 more challenging ones. These are used in various ways, but typically, you will place the stack of difficult encounters face down, then deal a certain number of regular encounters face down on top of that stack. As you draw encounter cards, the chapter will become more challenging. Some chapters only use the less challenging encounter cards.
