I will be playing Race for the Galaxy! A cool “Space Opera” type card game, similar card playing rules as in “San Juan” where cards are used to pay for buying cards, production, and playing them from your hand, on your Tableau!
First time I’ll be gaming in awhile tonight. Coconuts and Click Clack Lumberjack ARE happening. One thing or another kept getting in the way, but now it’s a go.
I hosted a gaming event, my first! We played DC Comics DBG, several games of One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Resident Evil, DBG and Dungeon Lords. That last game is growing on my quickly. I also added DC Comics Heroes Unite and Survive: Atlantis to my game collection. My daughter made us all awesome chili!!
Played Click Clack Lumberjack and Castle Panic with the kids, and got some adult game time in playing 7 Wonders, Castle Panic, Kamisado, Robo Rally, and Suburbia. Even got some time to paint a mini!
Went to a convention with a board game room, so I got to play Zooloretta, Bang! The Dice Game, and Mr. Jack Pocket. I also got my hands on Pandemic finally, as well as Pick-A-Dog and Walk The Dogs.
Dusted of LOTR:The Card game after not playing it for a while. I have the first 6 adventure packs and Khazad dum large expansion and had only gotten to the 3 expansion pack before other things took over my time.
Anyway, decided to start from scratch and got 4 games in to get back into the groove again. Beat the first scenario with straight up solo Tactics deck, then got crushed with it against the second scenario. Then decided to run 2 solo decks of Tactics and Leadership. Lost the first time and then won the next time. On to the 3rd scenario next time.
I learned 2 Feld games this weekend, The Speicherstadt (got 3 games in, so easy to learn & play!) & Bruges, and although I came in last, I very much enjoyed and can’t wait to get one for the library. Also got King of Tokyo with all the expansions in with 7 players. Fun times!
@stratagon I also submitted One Night Werewolf. We usually play until someone has won 5 games, otherwise we don’t stop. 🙂
A pounding headache has been plaguing me all weekend, but I don’t think I’m going to let it stop me from at least getting in a couple of quick games. Maybe some Ninja vs. Ninja – it is the weekend after all!
Definitely spent many an hour in the game room this weekend with Dark, Darker, Darkest, Wrath of Ashardalon, Battle for Souls, and Elder Sign with some late nights tossing the Giant Cthulhu Dice around.
@Paladin I’m soooo glad also. 🙂 I have to say all the toe twitching that I did in anticipation this week was not in vain. (Of course, it arrived during the 10 minutes on Friday I went over to CVS. Upon pulling back onto our block, I saw the UPS truck across the street from our house and was ready to storm his mobile fortress of brown if I found a ‘We missed you!’ tag on my door.)
This is a game with a capital G. This is the GAME. You were right about what you said in your review – it is not something to be taken lightly. Much like Descent or Pathfinder:ACG , this is a game that is going to work best with a dedicated faction of one’s gaming friends. Time to build a MYTH Guild of 4 or 5 with the dice rollers you know. An investment of time in rules and mechanics deciphering is needed. Much like Mage Wars even though the play is intuitive and all the necessities are on card, you have to clank through the learning curve to toss spells around without a blink like a true magic user and MYTH needs that continuous flow to feel like the button masher dungeon delve it is.
The Archer was just up my street. I liked her bunches. :):) The Boy played Soldier. The other couple, Wes and his wife, took up Acolyte and Apprentice. Even though fairly seasoned gamers all, we got trounced on the second quest -BAD! (LOL), but in post-game we broke it down and discovered opportunities missed and a few bad decisions.
Actually, even though Brigand stayed bound to the box – he would be my next choice of character to try. I agree though, for the rogue class, he is one pokey little monstrosity. And now…he we always speak like Uncle Arthur from Bewitched in my head! Thanks for that! 😛
I can’t wait to get the rest of the loot. I can see how bugs and boggins can wear thin. We are going to take MYTH lightly and only play a few games to get familiar with the play styles and other odds and ends. Then when the other 15 pounds arrive – we can go at it true Guild style.
(I also have to say we aren’t ‘sleevers’ in our household – so The Boy had to crack open his pledge manager and shoot a note off to Mercs because after getting the game – those other sleeves and the treasure bag are going to be a must.)
Attended a gaming event at Martin’s place! Played King of Tokyo, Dungeon Lords and over a dozen games of One Night Ultimate Werewolf. That game is impossible to quit once you start, and almost everybody there loved it! I submitted it to be added to this site. Check it out when it gets here…
Last night, played a round of Core Worlds: Galactic Orders with my son and stomped him pretty bad.
After that, my oldest daughter played me a round of Love Letter and two rounds of Biblios. She smacked me around in Love Letter, but I bested her at Biblios twice.
Played through a couple games of Battlelore 2nd Edition. After a really long losing streak against my brother, I finally came out with a victory. Felt very rewarding.
Brought the game over to our friends’ house for a night of mental button mashing dungeon delving. Worked our way through a small quest to clank through the learning curve and then with the taste of victory on our lips and raring to go and ready to make our cards dance – we got our bums served to us hot and tasty by The Darkness! LOL
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Just a lazy day today – hot chocolate, jammy pants, and either Summoner Wars or BattleCon: Devastation
@HaiKulture So glad you got your copy of MYTH and had the entire weekend to delve into it. Mid-week deliveries are the worst for me, because I stare longingly at the box when I’m at home with only a few hours in the evening to do grown-up responsible stuff, or sit in my office at work daydreaming about unwrapping decks of cards from cellophane and punching out tokens from cardboard.
How are you liking the Archer? So far my favorite to play is the Soldier because he’s so easy, but I REALLY want to love the Brigand with all of my heart. (Why the heck is the rat man so much bigger than the humans? Shouldn’t he be tiny and scrawny and sleek like Templeton?)
I will be playing Race for the Galaxy! A cool “Space Opera” type card game, similar card playing rules as in “San Juan” where cards are used to pay for buying cards, production, and playing them from your hand, on your Tableau!
I’ll be bringing What’s He Building Down There, Exodus: Proxima Centauri, 1775 Rebellion and Napoleon to the table this week. Lots of gaming to do!

Bootleggers! A kickstart game I got two Christmases ago, which needs to be added to this site.
We have played the resistance and we had a fun time 🙂 trust no one !!!!!!!!!!
Got a good amount of game time in this weekend!
Played Click Clack Lumberjack and Castle Panic with the kids, and got some adult game time in playing 7 Wonders, Castle Panic, Kamisado, Robo Rally, and Suburbia. Even got some time to paint a mini!
Finish the weekend with a round of Space Hulk: Death Angel, and Agricola.
1-5 predictions.
2 Evo;
1 Bushido (german version).

Also, we launched our Kickstarter on Saturday at a local coffee shop for our Spielbound Board Game Cafe! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1494445988/spielbound-board-game-cafe
