Another game free weekend, but Monday night we managed to play The Big Idea, Resistance, and a couple of games of Gambit 7 (the English edition of Wits & Wagers).
We won as the Spies in Resistance, but despite DaveL’s comments I did not win a thing! Oh and Queen Victoria did reign for sixty-three years, plus another seven months, so Gambit 7 got it wrong..
I would believe both, yes; not a good dice roller, not a very good drinker. So I had to hide away eventually, so not to be drinking myself under the table.
We had a fun one, with a heap of Dragonheart, a few other games, and then a game of Elder Sign — and the first time we have actually beaten the game. Now we’ll have to see if we can repeat the feat. We seem to be getting to grips with the game and are making fewer howling mistakes these days!
Had a lot going on over the weekend, so the only game I got in were 2 games of LOTR with my brother. We played 2 encounters we hadn’t played before. Next week I get to play a bevy of games! Excited!
I was able to get together with some peoples on Saturday and play some games. We played a few six player games and I was able to teach them Alhambra and then we played Acquire. Good times.
We went camping for a long weekend at Burney Falls and played games at the picnic table until late at night. If you went camping there and tried to go to sleep before 11 or 12… yeah, that was us, sorry!
🙂
I taught the group some easy games, and we had a blast… Fauna, King of Tokyo, Flash Point, and Flapjacks and Sasquatches. Flapjack’s a completely ridiculous game, but they all had fun, and that’s what counts.
Mage Knight again — can’t seem to stop playing! Lots of analysis downtime though. We always seem to end a round or two early and almost never with any lingering wounds. I guess it’s time to start upping the difficulty and trying some of the variants.
We’ll probably play some more 10 Days in XXX and/or Rattus with my wife too (she liked Rattus last weekend — I was pleased). And I’m I’m hearing good things about Le Havre on iOS, but will probably wait to buy it.
I ended up on Saturday playing Lords of Waterdeep, Toc!Toc!Woodman, Edo, Kingdom Builder and Roll Through the Ages. It was my 1st time playing Edo, but it felt like I had played it before. Today I will probably play Ninjato and Ascension.
Well , the Saturday Boardgame BBQ didn’t have the quantity of games, but it sure was fun! I got to play a game of Ticket to Ride with a full group (5 players) Friday night following a truncated Pathfinder RPG session. Saturday, I expected a lot of lightweight and party games, but was surprised when 2 of the guys suggested I get Mage Knight out. Started at 4:30pm, ended at 10:10. Played a slightly modified version of the walkthrough, but competitive (no co-op, but no pvp) and 2 cities that could be conquered. Everyone had a blast. Hopefully next time, though, we can shave a few hours off of that time. So much to learn/remember in that game, but also so much fun!
Got several games of 7 Wonders in last night with all the published expansions, including Cupertino. Can’t wait for GenCon to pick up the Cities expansion.
Did some final play-testing of GravWell at Epic Loot, my FLGS in Dayton Ohio. Just polishing the ball before the rules go to print. Assuming nothing changes, I’ll be demonstrating GravWell at my publisher’s area during GenCon.
Already played some Ingenious and 7 wonders. Tomorrow is mystery night where we crack open a case from Sherlock Homes: Consulting Detective soon to be reprinted in English.
Week-end started early, as I’m on vacation this week. We’ve already played three games of Flash Point: Fire Rescue, along with two games of Sequence with 12 people. I’m hoping to try the Resistance’ and perhaps Survive: Escape from Atlantis. We’ll see.
Plan on getting in a couple of games of Race for the Galaxy, might break out Labyrinth: The War on Terror for a solo play-through, then will either attempt to learn 51st State or In the Shadow of the Emperor. If there’s time, maybe a game of Chronicle.
@ Elida 😉
Arg! my coolstuffinc order got messed up, probably not getting my order until next week. #frustrated!
@Bobb GOOD ONE!! :p
@Elida
I think the point of a drinking game is to drink yourself under the table so that you can then hide there. 😉

@Elida
Because you roll dice poorly, or because you don’t drink well? 😛
On Thursday I played warewolf twice at a bacheloret party. Got killed off quite badly.
Then on Saturday I played a dice based drinking game. Which I sucked noodles at! 😛
