@inmarg Thanks – I’m filing Claustrophobia away on my mental Intriguey Games of Intrigue List. 🙂 Always looking for new and cool ideas.
As for Level 7 I think you will like it but be careful. Even though Escape and Omega Protocol are on the same ‘level’ – they are different games. Escape is more about surviving and escaping and managing fear and Omega Protocol is about being a big tough guy and smashing through infestations. Omega Protocol seems to be the more popular choice and not just because it allows for you to scream ‘Game Over Man!’ (A joke in our house I admittedly did not get for some time)
@Lone Token, thanks for the sugestion, i did not remember there was a solo mode, due that the game in this case is from my sister and husband, and i have not read the complete rules.
Taking the chance that they have left the game in my house i will give it a solo mode try.
I can’t compare it to Level 7 as I’ve yet to try it. A friend own it and has prepared it so it shouldn’t be far away.
What I love about Claustrophobia is how simple it really is. You have the human player roll a die/character and assigning one to each which gives the stats for that round and the demon player acting on what the humans did that turn. Setup is very quick and a round often lasts about an hour or less. In fact, our two rounds yesterday probably took only about an hour and both went to the final battle.
Lots of different rooms which favors both parties makes each scenario different each time you play it.
Very happy I’ve found someone a minute away who also loves it 🙂
I have to look into Claustrophobia because it got a lot of talk up in some Dice Tower Top 10’s I have watched. I’m surprised that living in the House of Dungeon Crawl we don’t own it. I wonder if The Boy thinks it is too much like Level 7
I played Puerto Rico for the first time. It has been on my agenda for so long. Couldn’t find the people to play it. Brilliant game. We have the anniversary edition. I really enjoyed it
Saturday gaming at our pub was another shot at Lewis&Clark followed by 7 wonders and Machi Koro
Sunday: my girlfriend is very impressed with Lewis&Clark, she is thinking to buy it. So we tried a two player game (still interesting, quite different gameplay). In the afternoon also World Without End
We were visited by family of my girlfriend and Saturday played a round of Saboteur 2 and Hanabi.
Sunday I left the girls alone home for their planned Spa evening and walked a minute to a gaming friend for 2 rounds of Claustrophobia (tried the latest exp), C&C and Star Realms. Great games, even if I lost them all.
Most noteworthy moment of the weekend was he needing 7 hits (4+ to hit) in Claustrophobia rolling 9 dice and getting 8.
@ Martin: 12 hours Merchants & Marauders?!?!?! Gee, I would have flipped the table long before. Then again, I didn’t enjoy my one time playing it either.
@ RCross: That’s a pretty decent Sunday, and it took less time then M&M for MArtin & co. 😉
Quite possibly the most epic board gaming weekend to date:
Friday:
– Takenoko
– Castle Panic: The Wizard’s Tower
Saturday:
– Star Realms
Sunday: 10 hours, 10 board games at the board game cafe
– Splendor
– The Tortoise & The Hare
– Batik
– Quoridor
– Camel Up
– Pandemic: The Cure
– Mascarade
– Dead of Winter
– 8 Minute Empire
– Krosmaster Arena
I finally got a chance to play Ankh Morpork (great little game) as well as Sushi Go and Dixit Jinx. With any luck I’ll get in some SotM before the weekend is up and maybe a first play of Villainy. Fingers crossed!
Played so far this weekend : Splendor, Shadows Over Camelot, Carcassonne, Cubist, AquaSphere, and Romolo O Remo.
I’m hoping the last 3 will be added to the site soon…
Using the sacred, rare, and beautiful boxed sets. It is new and shiny to the kids, so I figure why not get some more mileage out of it? I have both expansions too, so that ought to keep us busy for a while. Then, once our characters are all buff and whatnot, maybe we can introduce Space Marines to battle (which I now have thanks to Space Hulk) 🙂
Didn’t really plan on it, but had some friends over and played a few rounds of Smash-up and star realms while waiting for everyone to arrive. Then we dug into a few games of City of Horror! It was a lot of fun.

@inmarg Those are the best kind of die rolls!

What did you think of it?

@ Taxtu
If you liked Lewis & Clark and also enjoy playing solo this one is a good game to get.
I find the solo variant very challenging with a poor ratio of 1 win out of 8 plays.
@ Sir Gamesalot
I enjoy playing Discworld as well. Did’nt play it for a while but it was on the weekend playing list.
This game is simple to learn and play. I love the chaotic side of it. I only wish there were more different objective
Installed the Star Realms app… And killed several hours this weekend.
Also played Strike a Pose and Flowerfall with the wife and kids.

No gaming this Saturday but Sunday was a good boardgaming day:
– X-Wing
– Colt Express
– The Hare and the Tortoise
– Black Fleet
– Takenoko
We wee going to play Carcassonne, but Gamer Bling Expansion #1 and Yours Truly decided to undertake a Pandemic LARP.
We played Merchants & Marauders on our monthly get together and that was the only game we had time for because it took us about 12 hours to play it!
Played so far this weekend : Splendor, Shadows Over Camelot, Carcassonne, Cubist, AquaSphere, and Romolo O Remo.

Glad to be of service!
Hmmm, feeling like trucking goods through the galaxy this weekend.
