Warmachine: High Command and Hordes: High Command arrived this week! We played a few learning rounds on wednesday and really enjoyed the game. We’ll be playing more this weekend as we work on full reviews for them.
What are you playing this weekend?
I took the PNP of King’s Forge, printed on a colour laser, laminated the cards and bought some coloured dice on Ebay. The game has been awesome, everyone is enjoying it. Now I have to wait until April of next year to get the actual game and with expansion and board.
Played a round of Pirates Vs Dinosaurs and Spartacus
Was at Dragon*Con over the weekend, so no gaming, but got back and finally got to play Arkham Horror with Kingsport, Innsmouth and Miskatonic. Since it was our first time, of course we got a bunch of stuff wrong. I still had a blast; @finched, not so much, I think.
Gloom, Timeline, Puerto Rico, and a few games of Castles of Burgundy…
Hooray for surprise gaming! Got to play some Sentinels, Puerto Rico, and Power Grid on Labor Day.
Had a big family gathering, so most games weren’t that many player accessible. We did play a bunch of Hand and Foot, and I taught Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom to the kids. Really need a free weekend to get back into some serious gaming!
Played Guildhall: Job Fair, Rialto and Kings of Air & Steam.
I didn’t expect any gaming this weekend. But I for a chance to play a 5 player game of Vegas Showdown. The bidding gets pretty interesting with that many players.
Played Drum Roll, Rialto, Guild Hall: Job Faire, and Mascarade.
Only thing different from the norm was that my Pathfinder group finished early because our GM’s getting burnt out. He’d asked to do a bunch of weeks in a row and was regretting not having the break our alternate group where he’s just a player gave him.
Scoundrels of Skullport expansion and Barbu so far.
Mice and Mystics, and Forbidden Desert.
Antike and MTG.
I got to play Killer Bunnies, Dixit, and Star Trek DBG, TOS
Ended up finally getting to play King of Tokyo last night, which was fun as heck for a smaller than normal group. After several rounds we had the game’s owner get the expansion, which was a whole different level of fun. Highlight of the night was rolling a Yahtzee of 3s and scoring 12 points, then getting edged into Tokyo and ROFLstomped by a great attack roll-plus-bombardment.
This Saturday we had our very first game of Twilight Imperium and it was truly EPIC even though we were only 4 players. I played the Mentak Coalition and won mostly by spreading over half the galaxy like alien butter. It was really really amazing and I can’t wait to play with six people next week. Pax Magnifica Bellum Gloriosum
Went to local cafe and finally played Farmaggeddon – was light and perfect for the time and location. Thanks @Grant Rodiek for making it! Followed by Love Letter & Dungeon Roll.
Weekend has been busy with more game cataloging and moving – we’re up to 527 games! Played Viticulture again (another Kickstarter) – really enjoying it. None of the games are the same and it doesn’t run long.
Hoping to learn The Manhattan Project on Monday.
Pathfinder RPG was cancelled, so we played Keyflower and Guillotine. Strange combo, but it was fun.
Introduced my two girls to castle panic yesterday. They are 8 & 6. They loved it. Introduced the Wizards Tower today…. They loved that as well. Hopefully some pandemic later with the missus and maybe lost cities or some talisman.
I played Ra last night. When I searched for it to enter the play it comes up on the very last of 11 pages of games. The prior 10 pages are full of games that have The letters R A sequentially somewhere in their titles. Could you optimize your search algorithm to recognize and push Ra to the top of the list. Or for that matter any full word that might be part of another word.
