While we’re wishing we were playing every game under the sun at Gen Con, we’ve still got plenty of great games in our own collection. We’ll probably keep it cooperative, maybe some Zombicide or Sentinels of the Multiverse… or both!
What are you playing this weekend?
I am going to Stratagon’s for epic game day!!
Hosting monthly game day tomorrow! Galaxy Trucker, Battlestar Galactica, Avalon, Star Trek DBG, Arkham Horror and Zombies!!! on the agenda.
The Necromunda campaign continues, and the participants increase. Looking forward to more in the near future!
Chaos in the Old World, Uno and MTG.
Slow weekend because of the con. Merchants of Europe, & DOTR so far and maybe Abbadon today.
Had family game night with my wife’s side of the family last night… played a 6p game of Fish Cook, which everybody really enjoyed, followed by a game of Cards Against Humanity, which everybody also got a kick out of (surprisingly even my wife’s parents who we were worried would be offended!)
Had our monthly gaming night yesterday. Kicked things off with a game of Belfort, followed that up with Pirates vs Dinosaurs and then I taught someone how to play Android: Netrunner. Also built some new decks for the LotR LCG and played a few rounds of that with the wife.
My weekly Pathfinder group wasn’t meeting Saturday because of the guys who were going to be at Gencon. I’d talked with one of the guys who DMs every other week and we were gonna meet up to play some board games, including trying out the Bioshock game.
So I grabbed a sackful of games, namely:
Bioshock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia
Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age
Omen: A Reign of War (Kickstarter version)
Blood Bowl: Team Manager – The Card Game
Blood Bowl: Team Manager – The Card Game: Sudden Death
Zombie Fluxx
Gad…just realized that my board games love colons.
Anyway.
I take my sackful of games, show up at my FLGS and the only game anybody is playing is Warhammer 40K, with all the folks I normally game with watching or just hanging out, and the guy I’d talked about meeting up with no where in sight.
Well, after a couple hours waiting around, the guys I knew who were there left to go drinking (my teetotaler ways sort of exclude me from that kind of evening) and my one buddy never did show up.
So, all in all, not a great game night.
Board Game Arena?
Just introduced the kids to King of Tokyo this weekend. Great fun.
We’ve had a number of games of Dungeon Roll, and then some older games getting pulled back out, Zombie Dice, Ticket to Ride: Switzerland, Lost Cities, Ubongo Duel, Kupferkessel, and then some Indigo and Qwixx. It’s been a good weekend so far!
Just got home from a new FLGS. Picked up Get Bit!, The Last of the Independents, and Barca. Barca came in a very travel friendly bag and the 10×10 space board rolls up to fit inside with all the playing pieces. We’ve already played it twice!
6 man Game of Thrones yesterday. An epic play through where Greyjoy won in round 10 with only 5 castles. Lasted almost 6 hours…
Other than that, Talisman.
BGA?
Tried my first game of Tzolk’in using BGA tonight – it was… meh. (Edit – yes, BGA = BoardGameArena)
We’re going to play Lords of Waterdeep. I’m liking this game!
I would love to get a game of City of Remnants in.
I am hoping for a game of Star Trek Catan and some Star Trek DBG if anyone is available this fine looking weekend.
