What are Game Exploration Quests?
Learn everything you need to know about how the Game Exploration Quests work and see which group of games are explorable for the month.
I need more explorable games… 8 at least.
ps, Seeing a bunch of your avatars, it burns that I can’t sport the Gen Con 2012 badge or quest badges! Next year it’s happening!! ๐
Lookin forward to November’s list! Thanks for the update Jim!
Hey there! Sorry I missed this discussion. We’re working on a new set of explorable games that will launch in November. These new sets will also focus on specific types of games and act as guides. The first set will be a Cooperative Game Guide. They will also not be limited in the time they can be completed, once a game guide always a game guide ๐
@Hugin, When a game is no longer explorable, you won’t see the “explored” tab in the lower right on the page.

Thanks, folks. So, after seeing this list, I first thought to myself, “Oh ya. I remember doing these ones”. But when I checked the pages for them they do not show as explored. I would have sworn I did them though, especially King of Tokyo because I had just bought it at the time.
Anyone else experience the same thing? (Or maybe I’m delusional. It’s certainly possible.)
There were explorable games in September, but there aren’t any for October. The Exploration quests tab states that a new list will be posted in November.

I’m pretty sure the Pathfinder Beginner Box was one of them because I ended up buying that after exploring it. I don’t remember the others because I went through the quests some time around September 1st, which seems like a long time ago.
@ Akden
Know what the the October games where?
There was a round of explorable games for September, but there was no news announcement. They just appeared in the Game Exploration tab (under the Quest tab). In October when the next round was due, an update appeared in the Game Exploration tab that says there will be a new set of quests, starting in November.
@ Hugin
I don’t think there was one.
Did I miss it completely or has there not been any explorable games since these?
@ Elida – Isn’t that a great feeling? I saw that I own a game on the latest Game Update and it nearly knocked me off my seat!
@ Jim – Agreed on the main stream thing! It’s a great mix of resurgence of board gaming popularity (since pre-video game times) coupled with amazing board gaming design and production quality that the hobby hasn’t seen the likes of. It’s a great time to be a gamer!
@ Marvin K, Some months will have more explorable games than others, and this month definitely isn’t the end ๐
@Marvin — Or are there secret games to explore? I wonder… has anyone noticed anything?
I enjoy the quests as a chance to gain exposure to new games I might have missed, but does the decreasing amount of available games each month mean a vanishing point for the quests?
That`s a first. All these games I have played and rated. I actually own a few of them, too. That`s a first! ๐
I like it! Sure, there’s always the new and shiny games out there, but I am very happy to see some focus on these genre defining legends. I’m only sad that I’ve been reviewing their expansions and not the originals! Oops.
There’s been some interesting studies done on the “Wheaton Effect” on games. Apparently, a lot of game stores are seeing big spikes in games after TableTop does a review of the game. Good for the industry.
woohoo! first set of explorable games.
