Tenebrous

Ticket’s main selling point is that it is easy to learn, fun, and strategic. The basic idea is that you score by connecting cities. You do this by buying track with colored cards you collect during your turns. Completing a ticket (cards with two destinations on them you have to link) you get bonus points. All expansions have an overall prize of some sort, e.g. for the longest track in the basic edition, that gives you ten bonus points. The person with the most points wins.

It’s plethora of expansions (I like Switzerland the best) not only introduce new playing areas, but also have their own small twists in game mechanics. It is a go to game when my extended family gets together.

For those who have played Magic before, the Duels of the Planewalkers series strips the Magic experience down to its core, with a real emphasis on the mechanics and strategy of gameplay. In that respect it is as fun as any game of Magic you will ever find.

The deckbuilding mechanic is severely curtailed when compared to the CCG or Magic Online. This is one of my favorite aspects of Magic, and I was hoping for more out of this version.
