After a few agonizing weeks of knowing it’s here but being unable to play it, we’ll finally get to Clockwork Wars this weekend. We filmed the unboxing video this week, and the components are as good as they get… and plentiful! While we were away from home Kickstarter rewards for Catacombs (so many stickers!) and Poseidon’s Kingdom arrived, so those will be next on our list.
What are you playing this weekend?
Bbq with friends meant introducing telestrations to some people and playing croquet! Fun times were had by all. And some 2 player Machi Koro w/harbor while the baby took a nap!
Picked up Smash Up For more deck building with my kids. Also, just found out that Quarriors has an iPad app and I have been wanting to try it after starting with Dice Masters D&D style. It’s pretty fun with A.I. opponents and pass and play options.
An RPG, End of the World: Zombie Apocalypse, on Friday night.
For the first time in about 3 months or maybe longer I’ve invited a few friends for gaming tonight. Not sure what we’re playing but we’ll have Kings of NY, Lords of Waterdeep, Forbidden Stars, Harbour and a few more to choose from. This has to become great!
Finally got to play Battlestar Galactica. Even though the Cylons destroyed us it was a lot of fun!
Already played some Pandemic with Pandemic: On the Brink first edition and some Sentinels of the Multiverse. Not sure what the rest of the weekend will bring. I have been enjoying the new Star Realms expansions: Crisis and Gambit.
A couple of games of LotR:LCG last night. I’ve recently started on Black Riders saga and just have to say what a great expansion the sagas are. Brilliant player cards and just fantastic adventures.
Hopefully I will be able to get out to some friends either today or tomorrow as I’ve been healing from a cold the last few days.
Mostly doing work, but I’m going to try to run some demos of Spirit Island to support the kickstarter (which has funded!).
Well I figured I should play some Batman Fluxx for Batman Day … other than that, some Zombie Dice, Forbidden Desert and Flash Point: Fire & Rescue.
Not sure what we’ll be playing yet but looking forward to it!
Jeff – love your avatar!
So funny thing…my family has never played Catan, and I’ve never had a need to own a copy myself. Since the 5th edition had a price drop on Amazon, went ahead and purchased a copy and will introduce it to my parents and siblings.
Mind you, they have played Machi Koro, Sheriff of Nottingham, Darkmoon, Ticket to Ride, King of Tokyo, Dixit, etc…just never “Settlers of” Catan. It will be interesting to see if they like it or prefer some of the other modern board games we’ve played over the past year or so.
I just got a gently used copy of Lewis and Clark: The Expedition, so I am going to try a solo game this weekend.
Going to TO a rainbow draft for Dice Masters on Saturday. Hopefully a game of Jarl or The Duke, Rum & Bones, maybe some 7 Wonders or whatever everyone else feels up to.
Kickstarter game weekend: Tiny Epic Galaxies and Secret of the lost Tombs
Plus
Descent 2nd Edition with the Forgotten Souls Expansion (no Overlord).
We’ve got a mini October fest a few towns over, but we have been playing a lot of Flick em Up and Les Poilus (the grizzled). Also hope to get a few plays of Medieval Academy in before the drinking begins! Gotta love the German train system!
Tiny Epic Galaxies showed up this week, and may get an airing. Likely to be a few games of Machi Koro with both expansions, and a new local favorite, Codenames.
