What are you playing this weekend? (Sep 14)

So of all places to find a copy of Star Wars: X-Wing Miniautres Game I found one at Target. Next time you see one it’s worth checking out their selection. They don’t come close to a local game store of course, but what they are doing is helping to change board games from being a hobby to being something everyone does by offering a selection of “hobby” games that are a taste of the MUCH larger (and better, in my opinion) selection of games that are out there!

Now after all that tangent, this weekend we’ll be playing more X-Wing and Level 7 [escape]. Both are my current favorites!

What are you playing this weekend?

We’re planning a visit to the FLGS tomorrow, so are likely to come back with something new to play, depending on what they have in stock at the moment. So I’m hoping to have something shiny and new to play this weekend.

Not a whole lot on the gaming front this weekend, too much on the to do list. But if I’m lucky, I’ll sneak in something or other. 🙂

Have fun! The new Hobbit expansion is really fun!

Hoping to play Dominion for the first time, Power Grid, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Quarriors, Shadows over Camelot. Have a board gaming day on Sunday, very excited for it.

I really want to hit up the game store in the next county, but we’ll see. If not, I think a group of us are gonna do Game of Thrones tomorrow night with some warm up Munchkin since the guy with the game is always late;)

I Am What I Am

I have Infiltration (not really a kids game but my kids love it) on tap.

I just got Android: Netrunner, and plan to try that one out myself. I walked myself through a game with two decks I constructed to get the mechanics down and I really liked what I was seeing.

We are looking at our first session of Edge of the Empire (Star Wars RPG) tonight.

Tomorrow is our group’s monthly Saturday game session. Epic X-Wing on the docket as is 7 Wonders w/ Cities, maybe Britannia, and Antiquity as well. Also want to play Hansa Teutonica, so maybe that will make an appearance as well.

I’m really hoping to get in a few games of Magic this weekend, either Commander format or Planechase format (though I’ll be happy with regular style games as well). Other hoped-for game options are Castles of Burgundy, Lords of Waterdeep, Settlers of Catan, Dominion, and/or Race for the Galaxy.

We’ll see what actually happens, though. It’s rather dependent on what my family members want to play and what we have time for.

This weekend my group will be playing…

1st & Goal
First of all, because it is the start of the football season and I happen to be playing with a bunch of guys who like both football and boardgames (a win/win). Secondly, it just came in the mail a week ago.

Lord of the Rings: LCG
Right now this is my favorite game. We will be attempting to conquer the new Hobbit Saga quests.

After work today the gf & I are heading to the next town over to check out the game store and pick up something new. No clue what it will be, but am leaning towards Castles of Burgundy. I would love a surprise like Smash Up, but I dont think its out yet. After that home to try it out.
