We had such a blast last weekend playing The Resistance. The small box with around 60 cards was very deceptive for the crazy amount of fun we had with it! We played with five players, but the game can be played by up to ten, so we’ve been calling in the troops to get a bigger group to make things epic this weekend!
Anyone else discover a new favorite game recently?
No joy for me this weekend. It seems I’ve joined up with a bunch of Kiters who don’t like games, who knew that they existed?
4 Player Summoner Wars!!! Elves and Dwarves against a whole slew of goblins
I’m playing games with the kids this weekend. We’ve been playing a mix of kid’s games (junior labyrinth, animal upon animal), and a few family games (King of Tokyo, Takaneko). Today, we may get some HeroScape in.
We got in games of Lords of Waterdeep, Ascension with both expansions, as well as the Puerto Rico Anniversary Edition.
We’ve played Ascension plenty before, and although we’ve played Puerto Rico before, it was the first time I had been able to get the Anniversary Edition to the table. It is absolutely beautiful, and it is the edition I suggest to new PR players (it is a limited edition, though), as it also contains the original expansions. I think one of the other players was so pleased that he will go buy it himself.
Lords of Waterdeep was a first time game for us, and we all absolutely loved it. It is astonishingly easy to learn and to teach, despite having plenty of important tactical decisions to make. I had learned the game myself in a practice run-through and really caught onto the rules in about 5 minutes, and my play group did the same and took off running immediately. If a light-to-medium euro with a D&D theme sounds like your cup-of-tea, I would definitely give it a try.
Gotta try Manhattan Project at 3 and 5 players. This is a great game. High screw-over element to it, but good.
Played Last Night on Earth yesterday, along with solo Forlorn: Hope. I’d like to get in a game of Survive and maybe a couple of rounds of King of Tokyo today and tomorrow.
Happy belated Star Wars Day! Revenge of the 5th!
Got a whole bunch of Adventure packs and built another deck so Lord of the Rings: TCG tomorrow and probably some Heroscape or Ravenloft today with my brother. Exciting weekend!
Cards Against Humanity! My new favorite party game, but definitely for adults only, and only ones with a twisted sense of humor. I’ll be playing Thunderstone, Ticket to Ride, Atoll, and A Few Acres of Snow, all on digital formats. I wish it was easier getting live opponents to play against. In other geeky news, The Avengers will be awesome.
Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you!
I’m away again this weekend, but I may take fluxx, or a variant with me, it may work ok whilst doing the interminable waiting that short demonstrations in a long day make.
This weekend I am going to play D&D 4th edition. And probably I´m gonna play Combat Commander on Sunday Night.
Fiasco. I’m now addicted to Fiasco. Maybe I’ll be able to get in a game of Ascending Empires as well.
Avengers tonight, games tomorrow. Probably Alhambra and some Pandemic. Maybe Ticket to Ride India.
After the success of last week, getting Carcassonne out again would be great. We’ll just have to see what happens on the way. It’s a bank holiday weekend here in the UK, with every possibility of a load of rain, so it looks good for some games.
In honor of the movie, I thought about getting out my old TSR copy of the Marvel Superheroes Role Playing Game to see if Thor’s “Unearthly” strength could match the Hulk’s – but no time to play on a working weekend.
Saw the midnight showing of Avengers…
……(speechless)……
I’ll be playing some Nightfall this weekend!
Eclipse and a backyard Angry Birds rig. Made a launcher and a target area for the kids B-Day. Soooo, yeah, we’re gonna be launching Angry Birds all weekend.
Got my friend coming round tonight to finish our game of Axis & Allies 50th Anniversary Edition! Should be good.
More Nature of the Beast CCG in anticipation of the upcoming Polar vs. Prairie set due out soon.
I’ll be playing the jealousy game as all my friends from all over the country are getting together for an awesome gaming weekend that I’m unable to attend.
*sigh*
